Mötley Crüe Says Mick Mars is Not Legally Entitled to Band Monies & Why That’s BS!
Hey everyone!
In this video I cover Mötley Crüe’s response to Mick Mars suing the Band! Their response although eloquently written, when read with an eye between the lines, isn’t quite what it seems at first!
In Fact their response is BS!
Why do I claim this? Out of the 3 main areas of concern in their response, how many are just BS? Can they defeat Mick Mars in court?
Of course these and many more questions are answered in tonight’s video!
And as usual if you enjoy tonight;s video, please consider giving it a Thumbs-Up as that helps the KZbin algorithm better identify the channel to a larger audience!
If you haven’t subscribed to the channel as of yet, just hit that subscribe to ‘The Tribe’ button, and then tap that Top-Bell Icon, and you’ll be notified of all my future videos!

That's not true dude. I'm siding with Mick pretty much but the others aren't untalented especially Tommy. Many would say Tommy is the best musician in the band. Nikki did the majority of the song writing. The guys in the band are likely total douchebags now. Mick's not or not as much of one at least. They are all 4 douchebags to an extent for that bullshit farewell tour. Things aren't so damn simple. Mick is no angel but the better person than the other 3 I think. However I guess Tommy hasn't been playing as great lately. He was beyond great and there are just no grey areas with people anymore or respect.

@pumpkinheadghoul

@@steveeckert8396 Nikki Sixx BARELY even knew how to play the bass, let alone the guitar. There are plenty in LA who will tell you Nikki Sixx even tried out for Quiet Riot when Randy Rhodes was still in the band, and they laughed him out of the audition because he knew absolutely NOTHING about music, and Rhodes even had to show him how to tune his bass. Sixx may have written the lyrics for the songs, but I guarantee Mick Mars came up with most of, if not all of the riffs. The Motley Crue SOUND and riffs was all Mick Mars.
@216Numbskull
@216Numbskull Жыл бұрын
@@pumpkinheadghoul A bit of advice, don't try to debate an issue with strong conviction as facts if you don't even know how to spell a dude's name right. Otherwise the value of your knowledge is weak nor credible. Just saying cuz Randy's last name is spelled "Rhoads" not "Rhodes" ya dipsh!t. Now let the debate commence! As far as I'm concerned all 4 original members of Motley Crue are & were an integral part of the band, period. No matter who wrote what, why or when every one of them brought a certain special sauce to the table which is the biggest reason why they're Motley Crue & not Britny Fox. And if we're keeping it a buck here & not blow smoke up each other's azz then come correct, please? Not to dismiss any of the song writing Mick Mars made in the Crue at all. But, it was absolutely, most definitely, no doubt about it that Nikki Sixx was the main song writer in Motley Crue. The majority & I mean the "majority" of all of the bass parts, guitar riffs & the lyrics to almost every single Crue tune were written by Nikki Sixx. IDGAS about what you heard that happened at an audition for Quiet Riot in 1977. Within "4 years" Nikki took the time to get his sh!t together & focused on finding his knack at writing song & strived to be a Rockstar! The main song writer in Motley Crue is no mystery or even hard to find or a debate by any other member of the Crue. So, IDK where you're getting your information from but I'd look for a better source with credibility & facts of truth. If not you're just babbling a bunch of silly BS my dude, ya dig! +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul+

It's about time Mick stood up for himself and fought back. He got sick and tired of being a doormat for the other 3, and rightly so. How much shit can one person take before enough is enough? Now, with all of this said, about this alleged millions that Mick supposedly owes the band -- I'd be curious to know more about that. Honestly, I think it's more bullshit coming from the other 3. How can Mick be struggling financially when he was a major songwriter for the band and, by his own recent admission, doesn't piss his money away like the other 3 do? I think Mick has some very solid claims here. It's just a crying shame he still has to claw and scratch for what's rightfully his, even after all these years and with his arthritic condition to boot. How the other 3 can be so dismissive and callous about this is just dumbfounding!

Well you can take this for what it is... I saw Motley Crue on their supposed farewell tour, and was about 40 or 50 feet from the stage. Watching Nikki not playing his bass while it was still playing and coming out of the house front speakers. Several times watching him singing backing vocals which were clear as day in the mix without him near the microphone. I've seen the Crue a bunch of times ever since the Dr. Feelgood tour and they get progressively worse every single time.... EXCEPT for the tour they had, where John Corabi was the singer. THAT was a killer show. Hands down they were firing on all cylinders. I skipped the stadium tour but my friends that did go said Motley Crue was the worst of all the bands on the bill.

I read the article and it clarified some things I was already thinking. Outside of merchandise sales, Motley’s only real business is their touring business. They have sold off their catalog and their publishing, the only real source of revenue is touring and merchandise. According to the article, Mick is one of the people who wanted an agreement between the members that anybody not touring with the band wouldn’t be entitled to revenues from touring. Even so, they offered him 5% and then upped the offer to 7.5% in recognition of his contributions to the band. That’s millions of dollars to sit at the house. What I thought was wrong was that they offered him that for 2023, and not in perpetuity. The guy deserves to get paid for what will continue to be a valuable brand. I also thought it was messed up that they said he would only get paid for merch that bore his likeness. I believe he should continue to get a 25% cut of anything that has the name Motley Crue on it. With, or without his likeness. Nothing against John 5, he’s a great guitarist and a perfect replacement for Mick, but they aren’t a stadium act in 2023 because of him. He didn’t build that brand, Mick and the others did. Mick even came up with the name, he should be paid in perpetuity for that and everything not related to performing.

Nikki, Vince and Tommy vastly underestimate how much their fans love Mick... This is a horrible look for them, screwing over the one guy who brought it LIVE every show... the three of them may beat Mick in court, but they will lose with their fans in a big way... If they were smart, they would split the pie 5 ways evenly adding John 5 - so each gets 20% instead of 25%. It would probably be a wash with trying to cut Mick to 5% and giving John 5 20% when you figure in all of the legal bills and the big hit this will be on their legacy. BTW - This is by no means on John 5, who I think is a great replacement for Mick and has preserved Mick's legacy with integrity and respect... much more than Nikki, Vince and Tommy have.

So this past August 25, 2022 I saw Motley Crue at State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona, along with Poison and Def Leppard, and I can tell you first hand, Motley Crue was BY FAR the worst. Poison was great, as was Def Leppard, but Motley Crue at times throughout the show was at best okay, and most of the time was pretty awful. And I'm telling you this as an 80 metal head and very much a life long fan of the Crue. Here's then following day's headline from our local news AZ Central. HEADLINE: "Motley Crue was a mess at State Farm Stadium" Yep, that pretty much sums it up. However, I can say with absolute confidence that Mick Mars was NOT the reason they were so awful. In fact Mick held his own just fine. He was very frail looking, and didn't move around much, but there was no indication whatsoever he was using backing tracks, and being a 45 year veteran guitarist myself, I can usually spot these things a mile away. Not to mention, I was actually seated on the side of the stage with Mick, so I could see his hands quite clearly, which will always give up the secret, and I saw no such signs. With that said, if anyone should be hanging it up, it should be Vince Neil. Again, I'm a true lifelong fan of this band, but whatever singing talent Vince Neil had, has long since evaporated into thin air. The man simply can't sing anymore. In fact, you can find plenty of video evidence all over KZbin that backs up my account, and I assure you, they're all very sad and pathetic, so brace yourself. Not to mention, I'm 6' 1" tall and weight about 245 pounds, so I know what a fat guy looks like because I see one in the mirror every day, but compared to Vince, I look sort of fit. That guy has to weigh an easy 280 pounds, and at 5'9" tall, you can imagine what that looks like while he literally struggling to finish each line of vocals in a phrase. He's lucky if he even gets seven out of every ten words to come out. My Second biggest complaint was with whomever mixed the sound for Motley Crue. They truly need to have their hearing checked, because the mix was probably what truly sucked most about their performance. The guitar was mixed so incredibly loud that you couldn't even tell what was being plaid. It sounded like one long constant noise with hardly any discernible chord or note changes. They'd literally be half way through a song before we could even figure out which song they were even playing, that's how screwed up the sound quality was. The other bands didn't have this issue. My third biggest complain would be Tommy Lee. I'm not a drummer, so I can't say if they were using backing tracks for the drums or not, which from what I've learned, most bands use some form of backing tracks for live performances. But my complain is more about Tommy Lee, than Tommy Lee's drumming. Keep in mind, this is a football stadium absolutely PACKED with middle aged fans who brought their kids to see one of the iconic bands we grew up listening too, and then you get the 14 year old child in a man sized Tommy Lee body walking out to the front of the stage in the middle of the convert, and yelling for the women to show him their tits. Which lasted all of about 15 seconds before he was calling for guys to whip out their dicks and show it to the crowd. I was like "Dude, grow the fuck up already. Your fans are grownups now, so maybe you should consider becoming one yourself. There were literally thousands of children under the age of 12 in the audience, but that moronic man-child Tommy Lee proved beyond refute he can't read a room to save his life. THANK GOD there was some bands that night that actually still have their shit together, so it wasn't a total loss.

Going to side with Mick on this. After being bullied by them for quite some time finally has decided to speak up and fight back. He has let so much just roll off his shoulders. For to long he has been made out to be a fool, a forgetful old man that has nothing to offer the band. Which through all these years and no matter what was going on he has remained committed and always kept his passion and drive for Motley Crue and rock. So what if he exposes them for all the BS and so called "live" performances. You can corner someone for only so long before they come out swinging. I'd say it is going to get interesting but corporate won't let that happen.

I'm so disgusted that their entire set list is pre-recorded. I know backing tracks are common, but this is a whole other level. I'm not going to watch electronic music being performed by a dancer, I want to hear loud grungy rock and roll, and we're not even getting that. I have live versions of my favorite rock songs downloaded and I listen to those all the time- because they're real and messy and sometimes full of mistakes and that's what makes the soul of rock music real to me. The way guitarists change up the song to fill in the gaps that studio mixing can't replicate live, or singers adjust their notes to avoid certain ones they can't hit that day because their throats are shot from touring...That's what we were missing during lockdown when live shows were canceled. The last time I saw Crue in February their music sounded dead. Makes sense now.

Most of what the Motley Tools (the "corporation" members and their minions) are saying has either been proven as lies or logical folks can conclude they are. The main point you hit on is Mick is a 25% partner of an entity that has some tangible value, probably a very large value, the other partners can't unilaterally decide his 25% is worth 0. You are spot on about the worthless statements by road crew, meaningless. I would imagine if Mick has an audit done on the books he is owed quite a lot of money, probably well above just a present value share payout. But then again hard drug addicts usually aren't known for their integrity. I really hope people stop paying for this crap, I choose to remember the 80s by watching bands at their best on film not in a state of geriatric decay live.

However, Priest were a legit band who took heavy metal to new respect throughout the world - and Rob still doesn't lip-sync, and all instruments played live. Wish Rob would ditch the teleprompter...he was always such a pleasure to watch running around on stage. You should do a Priest video sometime Mike. You know your stuff about the Priest. Cheers

Too much is unknown to take sides at this early point. This current situation is years in the making. Case in point, under Sixx's leadership, Motley earned more money in their first year on their own than they had under the last 3 years of their contract with Warner. Then, take into consideration the actual corporate structure and how things may be set up for tax reasons. Example: The Rolling Stones pay another division of themselves to perform their own music in concert. That other division is based in the Netherlands for tax reasons. That other division is the one that legally owns their songs. Remember, the Stones - and Bowie - were left without a proverbial pot to pi$$ in due to greedy/bad managers in the late 60's / early 70's. Both Jagger and Bowie took control of their respective entities and built them into the powerhouses that they currently are. My money is on Sixx having done something similar once Motley was clear of Warner. And if this is the case, there's no telling how contracts have been structured behind the scenes, along with publishing rights, tax havens, etc. The "music business" is the realm of Almost Famous, groupies, and fans. However, the "business of music" is the realm of stock holders, contract lawyers, accountants, and the like. And this clusterfluff between Mars & Motley is definitely in the realm of the business of music.
