And another thing to note is that the m1a1 irl weighs less than the ppsh and most likely all the other smg's. Game balance should come before historical accuracy, but seeing as the m1a1 is outclassed in the rifle category except when it comes to taking people off head glitches at long range, why not give it smg sprint out/ ads along with faster strafe and movement speed.

Most likely it's due to the fact that the M1A1 has a higher fire rate cap and lower recoil, but gives up stopping power in return for accuracy. (Meaning that the M1A1 doesn't have a 2-shot kill range, unless you're shooting an enemy in the head with the high caliber attachment.)

Same here. Everybody says Garande is better but it feels awful to me. Inaccurate with too much kick... And I control recoil on the volk just fine so it's not like I can't handle recoil.. But semi auto recoil is tougher to manage in my experience

My best class for the M1A1 is Airborne, Hunker, M1A1 with Reflex and Quickdraw. It's really fun to play with and it's actually good against the sweaty hours of Pubs when everybody uses the PP and the BAR. Just try it out.

Buster the Bear yes please. The Bren should have a rate of fire somewhere between 480 and 540 RPM, but fires at half of that in this game. Why it was designed that way in COD WWII is beyond me.

praaaaaallly m1a1 is great for long engagements. As you saw, you can sit super far back and put a lot more bullets down range accurately. At range that will beat out almost every rifle.

Kobi Jenkins nice to see another carbine user. My number 1 gun in the game too! I use QuickDraw FMJ and Extended Mags as I like the iron sights so I don’t feel it needs an attachment. I use hunker as I like to play objective games, mostly war. This gun feels really rewarding and is fun to use

In your recomended classes I would swap luger for machine pistol. This weapon has no recoil and luger is considered longer range pistol so its kinda waste while machine pistol you can help in close quaters sometimes.

I'm pretty sure the Luger has a faster TTK. I'm not going to say for sure since I don't know the RPM on either but the TTK formula favors higher damage/ less shots to kill over faster firing weapons with more shots to kill, hence why semi-autos that 2 shot with relatively slow RPMs tend to beat other guns (provided the player isn't missing shots).

I really wanted to like this gun because of the low recoil and 3 shot kill range, but in practice, it feels like it shoots so slowly that people are able to move out of the way and behind cover before I can actually hit them with the third bullet. Just doesn't work for me. When I sit back and go for long range kills, I prefer the Karabin with the 4X to the M1A1 (or even the M1) because you get those two shot kills basically every time.

The recoil is great and the gun can be fun if you can aim your gun in the first place. Semi-Auto weapons feel inaccurate when fired quickly anyway because pressing the fire button quickly messes with my ability to track a target with my right stick slightly. If this gun was fully automatic with the same fire rate (i can reach is RF cap pretty easily) it would be insanely good, but even though it's a laser with consistent time to kill I miss more than with something like a type 100, even, on moving targets.

To be honest I like this gun but the first time I used it I hated it it felt useless to me but after a few hours of playing with it I got used to it. If I had this to Max prestige I would use: rapid fire, high caliber, extended mag, and advanced rifling(i have the Lil biscuit so I use it's iron sights.) and for another set up I would use: reflex sight, advanced rifling, high caliber, and extended mag. Now a year later... aaaand it rocks now, my second all time favorite gun in this entire game (first being the m1 garand) but now since the divisions are all re-made I use armored a lot because of the reduced flinch. So my class (if I had it) rapid fire, extended mag, and advanced rifling.

I think the game is bugged a bit with ranges. I just finished a game and I was getting four shot kills well within 50 meters. not through cover, and hearing four distinct hit marker noise. other times it's 3. not sure if it's hit registration or a range glitch.

I like the Carbine but I think the Garand or SVT-40 are better for what they're supposed to be good for, mid to long range. The Carbine will beat them both at close range but if the person has a full auto weapon, you're toast.

Andrei Valdez Not in the 35 damage range, which is why I was asking. In the 35 damage range, it takes both shots to the head to be a two shot kill. In the 40 damage range, one to the head and one body is a two shot kill. I know you always give the stats for ranges in hardcore, but could you do a setup guide for hardcore itself? At the moment i always run the same two guns (BAR and Type 100), attachments (quickdraw and ext mags), basic training (lookout) and division (mountain). It can be repetitive and i was wondering if you had some ideas on how i might change it up?

M Dev Try using FMJ over Ext. Mags. In HC your health is low enough that FMJ letting you shoot through walls with low damage going out still lets you take someone down with 1-2 shots in headglitches. Extended Mags doesn't help a lot in HC because everyone dies in 1 shot or 2 at most. You don't benefit as much from it like you do in Core where people take 3, 4, 5 or even 6 shots usually.

Just finished the gold grind for the M1A1 today. Definitely an underrated gun, but you gotta play to its strengths. That means sitting back and taking advantage of its zero recoil to pick people off at range. Lookout is awesome with this gun. Up close you stand almost no chance against most guns, but if you hang back and are accurate, this gun is pretty fun to use.

Honestly I don’t use the M1 Carbine all that much. It’s because IF I use it, I feel vulnerable and scared. Yes, the gun is great in many ways, but the Achilles Heel for me is that 3 shot minimum kill time. It looks so inferior on paper, buuuut...maybe I should give this gun a shot. I’ve been meaning to find a good Garand alternative. Not the SVT, though. That thing is atrocious.

Having an infared scope system on an M2 Carbine would actually make it an M3 Carbine... it would be interesting to see an exclusive sight and whether or not it would have to be categorically separated as a different weapon or even weapon type. An M2 would work in this game though, the rifle did start production in April 1945 and saw limited service on both the European and Pacific fronts!

I know both those things but it'd have been nice to see both to differentiate this weapon from the Gewehr as well as to just have an infrared scope in this game, even if it sucks. (And I hope it would have so we don't see a repeat of BO2 with people hiding in head glitches with Dual Band scopes). I would've liked to have seen an infrared scope that worked like a Recon Plane works against Flanker where it slowly highlighted people that aren't moving - as their heat signature built up and stood out in contrast to their surroundings - as a way to help players counter head glitchers or campers.
