Great, comprehensive tutorial! I just want to ask you if W is the second letter in a letter pair, would you then memorize it as W but know to execute the C algorithm or would you memo the W as a C? Hope my wording is understandable.
@jgcubing20935 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This is up to personal preference but it is all about consistency. Personally (and what I think most people do), I would memorize W and then just execute the C algorithm. However, if it is easier for you, you could just memorize the letter C instead of W. Whatever you do, just make sure you always do it that way so that you don't need to think about whether you should be executing one or the other based on how you did your memorization. The only reason I would lean you towards memorizing the actual letter and executing the other algorithm is so that if you eventually want to start adding commutators into your solves once you get more advanced, It will help to be used to memorizing the proper letter.

You should not use B moves in your setup moves. Either rotate and use RU/LU or use wide moves for those targets. A note to Q: You can also do U moves instead of U', which is especially helpful for people like me who like to do the M moves with their left hand.
@jgcubing20935 жыл бұрын
Yes I completely agree and that's what I do in my solves. I only used B moves for the tutorial because generally it's easier to not rotate the cube when you're a beginner to 3bld
@topppits5 жыл бұрын
I agree that do understand the algs intuitively that might be easier at first, but you should at least mention it. It's not good to start with bad habits and it took me a while to get rid of those B moves and switch to rotations. Sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it, didn't watch it super concentrated, since I already know M2. I learned from J Perm's tutorial and he did it the same. Was hoping you'd teach it otherwise, which is pretty much the only reason I watched your video, since then I'd have had a good M2 tutorial to link people to.

@@topppits Thank you for the feedback, I've updated the description with the rotation setups and the info about the Q set up. J Perm has a really great tutorial, I just wanted to give another resource that people can use if they are still having any issues. I appreciate your comments.

There's a better parity alg but THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD Q ALG because there's like no reason to use the other one
@jgcubing20935 жыл бұрын
Which alg is better for parity? This is the one that I've always known. Also, yes it is so much better to use that Q alg! The only use I know of for the other one is that it is used for solving wings/midges in 4bld and 5bld.

I have a problem when solving M2/OP method. I'm using the same letter scheme btw. When doing my M2 edges, should I solve the edge piece A and D last? Otherwise I have 3 flipped pieces somewhere else before I go into OP corners.

Great tutorial, better than JPerm's! Wanna teach R2?
@jgcubing20934 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Unfortunately I probably won't be making an R2 tutorial though. I started university this year, so I've been really focused on that and haven't been making videos. I also don't know the R2 method. If I was good at using the method and could find some time to make a video I would, but I don't see that happening in the near future. Personally, I recommend you learn Orozco and then 3-style corners instead.

Your M set up alg is wrong in the description :( (or x' U R U') sets up M to W not A. Should be (or x' U' R U). Same with O, it sets up to W; should be (or x' U' R' U). P (or U R2 U') is the set up for V; should be (or x' U' R2 U).

my end letter is A so i don't know how to do it? please help me
@jgcubing20934 жыл бұрын
If your end letter is A then you just finish with an M2, then if you have no parity, your edges should be solved. If you have parity (an odd number of letters) then perform the parity algorithm (in the video or the description).

When you got C as your second letter in a pair, would you set-up W to the target aswell?
@jgcubing20934 жыл бұрын
When C is the second letter you just solve it as if its W. no need to do anything to W afterwords. If it helps, you can just memorize C as the letter W when memorizing if it comes up second. That way you don't need to think about using a different alg, you would just perform the W alg.

I want to ask you bro, how to solve if the conditions only buffer U and A ??? I cant solve them and how the way?
@jgcubing20935 жыл бұрын
That means that you have parity. Whenever there is an odd number of targets to solve you will have parity. Solve all the pieces as you would, and then your middle layer should be off by an M2. Then you just do the parity alg and move on to corners. The alg is D' L2 D M2 D' L2 D.

Can I use a different lettering scheme instead of Speffz?
@teriww5 жыл бұрын
alot of people skip X and Q or use a different language they know. you can use any lettering scheme you want to, it may make learning from tutorials more difficult, though.
@jgcubing20935 жыл бұрын
Like Brayden said, you can change letters or even use a completely different lettering scheme if there's something that you can remember easier. However, I advise that you do stick with letters because letter pairs do seem to be superior for memorization over numbers or anything else. The benefit of Speffz is that is makes it much easier when following tutorials or talking to other cubers because it is the most commonly used scheme. If you're having trouble remembering Speffz, just try to stick with it, with some practice it will become much easier to remember and eventually be second nature to you.
