I got mine today. As a product (UX) designer, I believe it will run smoothly for atleast 3-4 years.

This is the exact video I was looking for! I’m trying to switch from a windows pc to a Mac mini pro mostly for traveling but I do music production and hate that I can’t travel with my bulky pc😂 and I would get a MacBook but I hate using a touch pad and a small screen

Great video, thank you. Am moving toward getting a mac mini as my custom audio pc is now almost 10 years old and I can't face the move to Windows 11. So, moving to mac. This has convinced me to get the mac mini even more

I have an older imac but when it comes to bigger projects in logic i will always have to work things around and now im thinking about upgrading, can you somehow connect the mac mini to an i mac and use them both ?

Great video... I'm considering the Mac Studio with M4 when it comes out next year... but to be honest, I might be spending unnecessary money, despite doing a lot with the computer, besides music and video production. (photography, 3d, software dev, etc...). I'm sure a Mini could handle that and more, while saving me money. I'll definitely make my research before buying. Cause money ain't growing on trees just yet! :P

Great Video! Is the 512ssd slow in writing and reading speed compared to the 1TB ssd?
@arkoverload9 ай бұрын
No, to my knowledge, only the 256 uses the slower SSD drives. The 512 and on is good, but I would advise checking google to make sure.

Thanks for the review. Did you connect two external synths via thunderbolt? And are they detected well in Logic? Like USB?
@arkoverload28 күн бұрын
The external synths are connected via USB through my thunderbolt monitor, which connected to the Mac mini using a Thunderbolt 2 to 3 converter from Apple ($50). Everything works great.

awesome video in every aspect. i would just like to know how your memory usage and pressure is during heavy music production do you use swap memory or not ? taken in consideration that you have 16 gbs available that are utilized also by the gpu .
@arkoverload9 ай бұрын
No swap memory (that I know of).

Entièrement d'accord, c'est un petit monstre de puissance, on peut faire de la mao, kontakt, du blender du After effect et surfer sur le net en même temps, c'est un vrai bac à sable , la limite c'est celle de l'utilisateur 🙂🙂👍

Does the vst work well on 32 sample buffer ? I am asking, because i wanna use keyscape with lowest latency? What latency do u get ?

I am glad it has worked out for you. So did you already own the Macbook M1 Max or did you buy it and then exchange it for the Pro Mini? Not sure why you would switch out a clearly higher end Mac. For me having double the RAM is a must. Now if you had bought the Macbook and then decided to save the money and exchange it by the exchange date I can understand saving the money as the Mini Pro is clearly plenty. It's just if you already owned the Macbook for some time. Unless the Macbook battery was getting old or you really really wanted a desktop instead of a laptop like in my case. I had the Mac Mini Pro I got for $1300, but I think it was a defected unit as it screen flickered and then the device would reboot for no reason, very odd. So I was able to get the Mac Studio on sale for $1800, $500 more. I went with it. But yes the Mini Pro was awesome when it worked.
@arkoverload9 ай бұрын
I sold the MacBook Pro for twice the price that it cost me the get the Mac mini, so I saved money in the process. Plus, I’m not forced to work in my office, which is a nice bonus.

@@arkoverload OK, that makes more sense to me. Switched out the devices and made a little extra cash from the switch. Good move.

do you recommend the m1 16ram for big session usage?
@arkoverload3 ай бұрын
It depends on what you mean by "big session", but in my use case, where I'm producing more pop-rock, rock and instrumental music, the m2 pro Mac mini with 16 gigs of ram has been great for me. M1 is great, but not sure how it will handle large sessions.
@devarni6 ай бұрын
You have the base model with 8GB RAM? Can you say something about the RAM consumption for your projects? It has often been confirmed that the performance of the M2 is super, but the RAM is where the biggest questions arise. Especially when producing music with sample-based instruments such as Omnisphere or Kontakt Libraries?
