I have a e90 325 with upgrades and it’s a beast off the line, they’re probably like that because of the engine being so light, it’s a magnesium block so the engine is actually lighter than the Subaru 4 cyl

328i e90 say 230 but underrated like all BMW's that's why they run with 350z and g35 who are close to 300 hp. I love my 2011 328xdrive AWD takes off! Yes reliable straight smooth 6 it's BMW bread and butter

my 328i is sitting at 163k miles, got it at 60k. We have had our ups and downs, but it was never anything I couldn't handle fix, two valve covers and one oil pan later, she is still kicking

I got an E90 328i 6mt its a great car to drive for the price in the market last year. N52 reliability is solid sounds fantastic with an exhaust and bout to turn it into a drift build😮

Agree, I have one with only 39k miles and although it may not be the fastest thing around I think its plenty fast to get in and out of traffic and the handleing/ steering feel is great. I've driven other cars before around the same power and none feel as balanced and refined as the N52, In this car I dont feel the need to downshift and go past 6 and 7k rpms to get going every single time I'm trying to pass someone. My only complain for the car is the over assisted brakes which could be that I'm not used to it since I dont drive it often.

I have a 2008 328i it is modded I'm putting down about 340 HP at the wheels I absolutely love it especially on the freeway it is a beast but also very fun on a Mountain Road car handles amazing and very predictable no matter the situation I always feel confident in this car it's got enough power to get you out of bad situation and enough power to get you into some good situations:-):-) perfection the ultimate driving machine 3 Series till the day I die

The M3 is a beast but very impractical for the avg joe...it is a gas hog and problematic like a 335i...if you spend some good money on the 328i, you'll have a reliable car with a good balance of power and handling.

Love my 260k mile 328i n52. Runs like new still. 3 stage intake n exhaust is all you need. Not a M3 but I have faster cars than that.

Exactly! The launch and shift speed was horrible. For anyone not capable of understanding the numbers, that M3 should be somewhere in the 4.5-5 second mark MAX. Not .44 seconds difference. He let the backend slide around for two full seconds before he ever got moving. Didn’t build boost. Terrible launches in each.

Same car I have a cold air from injen. Replaced my manifold with a 3stage manifold from a 335i. Cat delete. Stage 2 tune and looking forward to finish it off with a single turbo. It's gonna take time lol. Horsepower gained so far is a whopping 93 horsepower baby. (Thanks to the tune mainly.)

I have an E92 M3, E93 328I, and E92 335I M pkg all with the same mileage. Surprisingly the least reliable one is the 328i, and the most reliable has been the m3. Not only that but even the materials and plastics in the m3 look new still while i have issues with creaks, rattles, and plastics turning sticky in the 328i. Also you cant even compare the driving experiences between the 328 or 335 to the m3. Its just not comparable no matter how many mods i can put in the 335i.

Not really necessary. You can easily and relatively inexpensively change the intake manifold and get a tune to have the same power as the 330i.
