Wouldn't use a 3d printed piece for any brake component unless it's metal
@bighorse2155 жыл бұрын
Abs plastic is strong enough almost as good as fiberglass plus most of the stress is going into the forward bolt that's going into the metal frame

@giorgiowjan2145 жыл бұрын

Glass temp of PETG is 105c, that's very low for brake components. you need to make sure it's not getting soft after long braking.
@cbutters5 жыл бұрын
I live on steep hills; steeper than 99% of users would regularly drive on I would guess; and while the brake itself gets hot; its not really transfering that heat into the PETG. I've had no issues over hundreds of miles. Although I haven't used it in the middle of the summer yet which could change things. I would definitely recommend inspecting the piece each time your ride though and check bolt tightness as it definitely is not the greatest material for a brake mount.

Hi, great video! I was wondering whether you would have to modify the specs surrounding the breaks on apps such as M365_downG XG Mod in order for them to work best? Thanks!

Do you have information on the size of the spring that was used in the video?
@cbutters5 жыл бұрын
I don't know exactly... I just went to the hardware store and found what seemed right out of their box. but I also realized there was a pinch in my line that was making the cable not slide easily; once I fixed that the spring isn't as necessary; but still nice to have.

Basic M365 PRo breaks awesome. Much better than basic M365 :D. No need to upgrade for me, brake can block the tire easily, no need for more power...

Why did you test the brakes by turning off the motor? They are supposed to work in tandem. That's like testing the brakes in your using only the hand brake.
@cbutters4 жыл бұрын
If the motor were to fail; I'd want to know the brake could stop my on it's own. You test worst case scenario for the best outcome.

i would not trust plastic 3D prints for brakes. its a 4$ bracket and sold on ali express. It looks like hes using 1 bolt that goes through the caliper and into the original frame. So that at least accounts for the strength, still not ideal but better than a full displacement of the mounting locations.
