The maximum allowable difference in battery pack voltage when they are first connected isn't nearly as sensitive as you suggest. You claim 0.01V, but I connected mine at 1.0V difference and only 2A flowed from higher to lower. The internal impedance of the battery prevents overcurrent. As long as both packs have been fully charged, you'll be fine. The most important thing is to have the same chemistry and same number of cells in series.

The scooter probably thinks you are trying to charge it you can disable that with the custom firmware toolkit (m365.botox.bz)

I added a 2nd battery pack to my m365... but I am having trouble with the 2nd battery. it will only output 46w to the controller. The 2nd battery is a m365 battery that I bought used. Do I need to bypass the bms? The batterys are connected with a y connection. They were within .01 of a volt before I went for a ride and I noticed when I would stop that the main battery would be charging.

Hey pirate. I got a pro last week. Gonna do the battery upgrade mod. I've already flashed my scooter with the gonka 1.6 update. But I'm sure the remove charging mode is not active as a default in the firmware. So when I do this battery mod will I have to flash the firmware again with remove charging mode switched ON this time. Or do I just leave it and see what happens with the gonka firmware I already have flashed on?

A simple PIV calculation could answer that. Presuming you have a non-pro M365; 250w = I x 36V I = 6.94a continuous draw. 500wat peak. 500w = I x 36V. I = 13.8a peak draw(or max). I would suggest getting something that can put out higher amperage.

Was 60A needed for BMS? Also, I'm still confused as to how these batteries are meant to work together (want to do this myself). If the additional battery is before the normal bms then it won't be helping to drive much because the m365 charge circuit is limited to about 2.3A. So a trip of an hour solid driving will get you just one hour of charging via the battery.

@@PirateWasHere I was thinking 45A for a bms. Quite a bit higher cost for 60 but bigger is always better :) In parallel is cool, you've done things very well! That halves the current required too as each battery would supply half. You asked about the 2.3A. I mentioned that because RollerPlausch recommends adding the extra battery in series, before the bms. This means it becomes just a charging source which the m365 limits to under 2.3A by cycling the connection every 2 seconds with its over current protection. It's nice to see it done right. How are you finding the Pro?

@@orange42 NOT before BMS, this is BAD ! better to fuc* up one bms than whole ride, also in PRO i am not sure if BMS will handle 20-30A current for 30minutes like I ma using now, something would overheat and fry. But U re smart , U know how it's working , and U can imgine now why use 2 separate BMSs and connect them in parallel. Once when I break PRO version , I saw regenerative charging at 7.8A ! so ... :) . Well I used 60A cause I will use this lion pack on my Esk8, I would say that some BMS with constant power around 25-30A will do the job :)

Normally, plug connector and done. In my system both batteries are connected parallel so at one circuit. When u charging one battery then also second one is charging , because its the same circuit and all things connected to it will have the same voltage. More precise when u charge stock battery then voltage is rising of this battery and also the output voltage of stock battery, aaaaaand because extra battery is connected staight to output then also its charging with the same voltage

Yes, it will, it's just ideal to match a 12000mAh battery pack with a 12000mAh battery pack, but you can match it with a 30000mAh battery pack. But above 12000mAh it becomes frankly ridiculous so I don't know why you would want to do it

I had different idea for battery mod: motherboard => 2 point switch => 2 completely different and separate batteries. At any point only one battery is connected to the board. When this one runs out, you flick the switch and than use 2nd battery which is full. This way the Scooter will thi k you just have fully charged 🔋 again. Do you think it would work? This way you can disconnect the add-on battery.

Mam pewien problem z dodatkową baterią w Xiaomi M365 Pro, chodzi o to, że od czasu do czasu prąd pobierany jest tylko z baterii Xiaomi (widać to po poborze prądu), potem gdy się zatrzymam to zewnętrzna bateria ładuje wewnętrzną powiedzmy 5A, co nie jest zbyt normalne, myślisz, że to jakiś problem z połączeniem, że raz styka, a innym razem już nie? Bateria dodatkowa jest na ogniwach Panasonika podłączona kablem Y (jak u Ciebie na filmie). Z tego co widzę u Ciebie na filmikach z Xiaomi i dodatkową baterią to jest zawsze pobór prądu o połowę mniejszy (wykrywa non stop zewnętrzną baterie) więc u mnie ewidentnie jest coś nie tak. @@PirateWasHere Generalny problem jest taki, że po w trakcie jazdy nagle używany jest prąd tylko z baterii wewnętrznej i potem przez to zewnętrzna ładują tą w środku, tak jak by połączenie po drodze przerywało. U Ciebie na innym filmie (32 minutowym) nie było nawet przez moment sytuacji w której by bateria wewnętrzna była tylko użyta do napędu, cały czas pobór był na OSD o mniej więcej połowę zmniejszony (tak jak być powinno), u mnie jednak czasami jak by zewnętrzna bateria nie jest wykrywana i wtedy leci pobór pełny z baterii Xiaomi, a wtedy jak już pisałem wcześniej jest za duże ładowanie bo bateria dodatkowa nie jest rozładowywana, a wewnętrzna już tak i to mocno. Co do ładowania 5A to raz miałem taką sytuację, po prostu przez większość czasu bateria zewnętrzna nie była wykrywalna i dużo napięcia ubyło z tej Xiaomi, a nagle po zatrzymaniu bateria dodatkowa zaczęła ładować i wtedy na moment było 5,1A i spadało powoli do mniejszych wartości. Zostały wymienione wtyczki w torbie na nowe ale problem nie dawno znowu powrócił, podejrzewamy, że gdzieś może być problem w kablu Y pod podestem. Jako ciekawostkę dodam tylko, ze dodatkowa bateria posiada również 12,8Ah.

Trochę boję się o zasięg - do pracy mam 8 km i bez doładowywania na miejscu może już być problem z powrotem (no i to zwalnianie przy mniejszym naładowaniu). Dodatkowo, od czasu do czasu chciałbym mieć możliwość przejazdu na działkę (trasa Bałuty-Tuszyn ok. 30 km). Czy po dołożeniu takiej baterii będzie możliwość takiego przejazdu? Czy mógłbym zamówić u Ciebie usługę stworzenia i montażu takiego cuda? 😀

Zwykła wersja powinna dać rade 50km++ po zalozeniu dodatkowej baterii lub nawet 100km+ , w sumie przyszlym tyg bede pokazywal jak zrobic mod zwyklej m365 do wersji pro poprzez zmiane dashbordu (20$ ) . Co do baterii i montazu, to nie wiem czy znajde czas na to bo zajmuje to z 3-7h wraz z balansowaniem baterii .

Hello, i added an extra battery (36/42, 25A, 12,8ah) and changed the FW but the batteries are not working together, so i was trying them separately...if i connect only the original battery then its all good but if i connect only extra battery it doesnt work and it shows me somekind of error code 21 on display...any idea what could be wrong?

Jesus Man are you serious ? , system will not show you info from extra battery cause u didn't connect any extra data cable from second battery just + & - wires .... So ESC treat all connected batteries as one big battery, just ride somewhere and u will see that M365 got much bigger working range xD 🍕🍻 . ** That is why U have to use stock battery cause it has data cable , and add extra batteries without data cable.

I don't have any problems with charging :) , sometimes just have to wait 1min after charging to equal voltages on both batteries

All in video, if u dont know how it works then leaen and back to me , i.dont like when someone is not even tryin to understand . But i will say something special for u , lion batteries got best capacity between 3.6 to 3.8v , and just inagine that u are connecting battery set lik3 in my case 12ah x2 , one battery is 3.8v other one 3.74, difference in voltage is 0.6v and capacity even 1500mah at that point. Just imagine that this difference will be send to battery with lower voltage under 1sec with current over easily 10amps, as u imagine if battery will survive then it will be seriously damaged and life span can be decreased -40 to -70%

Metoda Y) na seryjnym oprogramowaniu, pojawia się problem, że ruszasz - jest ok, jedziesz - jest ok, ale jak się zatrzymasz, to hulajnoga przełącza się w tryb ładowania. Oryginalna bateria ładuje się z dodatkowej. Didody na panelu migaja, światło stop miga, a żeby ruszyć - trzeba wyłączyć i włączyć hulajnogę. I żeby tego uniknąć masz opcje Remove charging Mode przy generowania oprogramowania do m365 na m365.botox.bz I ja pytam czy u Ciebie nie ma problemów w PRO?

Do i only need to connect the 2 batteries together(equal voltage adjusment) and the motherboard? If that is all im gonna do it myself :)

After doing this mod i decided to disconnect the external battery after charging the scooter and noticed the voltages between the two batteries were different. Is this ok? The charger seem to charge up the main battery before the external.

It is ideal, but it's not necessary. You can match the original 12800mAh battery with a 10000mAh battery, a 15000mAh battery and even a 30000mAh battery
