Got me a Yulu E10 a few months back. This looks like an uppdated version of that. A few observations. On mine, I moved the Sync 3 unit from the old radio to the new unit . That was to keep the original chime, and am/fm, Sirius, etc The thing that sucked and I miss is when playing Sirius, I lost the artist/song info. Yes I can get that throgh the app in Carplay but sometimes I dont want to switch as Carplay doesnt alway auto connect. A few other observations that perhaps you an tell me if this unit has these: Backup trailer assist no longer works - not that I really used it but if someone is thinking about it keep that in mind. You didn'tmention whether this has a sim card connection On mine, the compass on the dash near the speedo no longer works it stays on N. Does yours still function? Would I purchase again? Hard to say. $1000 for my unit is steep. I do like the wireless Car play, access to Google Play and all of the apps. Ability to watch KZbinTV, Netflix, etc on the screen. Large Waze screen. Ability to have a split screen with 2 apps. All things you can do with your unit. The interface actually looks the same as mine. I think that yours is just updated. I usually need to reboot it once a week. Let me know how yours is with stability. I am jealous of that volume knob. I miss that on mine. Lastly, most states have laws that prohibit playing video in the drivers area while driving. Before doing so, make sure it is legal in your state. Thaanks for the video and I look forward to seeing some updates as you learn its features.

I noticed when I remote start the truck, the hvac goes to the leg vents and that’s it. Is there a way to change that to where it cools/heats throughout the vehicle on remote start? Congrats! Yes all the stock functions work with the unit. You can get an aftermarket camera and wire it up if you want, but the OEM works fine once it’s regrounded in the tailgate.

I don’t but yes the unit has the ability to turn the seats on/off for cool and heat. You can actually see the heated seat option in the hvac screen.

I’ve had the unit now for a few weeks. And yes, the HVAC portion of the screen does have an option that would lead you to believe the heated seats function still works. HOWEVER, to date, they cannot be turned on by what is offered. Just a note for those interested in purchasing this unit. I cannot get the heated seats to work. Few questions. Can you confirm yet that the battery issue is not due to the new unit? I'm not a fan of the chromelike knobs, is it possible to swap knobs from the parts removed? Carplay is wireless correct? No need to swap the exiting Apim onto the new unit? They seem to sell a model for Auto AC and manual AC but you mention having manual AC but that Auto AC works now that you have the new unit?

Yes, just my specific battery on its way out. Yes, knobs are removable and you can paint to black or whatever color you choose. Yes, CarPlay is wireless. No need to swap the apim over. The auto works for the temperature, but not the fan vent location. Just adjusts the temperature automatically.

To resolve the camera issue, you need to re ground the camera in the tailgate. Yes it still has the ambient light feature on the unit.

Did you take that powered amp out from behind the back seat? Also... (sorry, I haven't looked around yet... I just found your channel), do you have any updates on this system after 3 months of use? One final question... you said you had SYNC 3. Did you upgrade to that yourself? My 2015 has SYNC 2, and I don't have carplay (or android auto). I know there is another module that gets relocated but you didn’t need to keep the module that’s attached to the back of the old sync 3 right?

@ibmixin you just need to transfer over the module from the cd player below to keep the plugs connected. Otherwise, nothing else is used from the stock unit.

That’s located on the buttons above the screen. I don’t have that feature so no button is there for it. If your truck was optioned with it, you transfer over that button to the unit as well.

@leonhardtk yes the actually cd player remains in the truck, but there is no access to it besides behind the unit. You can use the sync 2 USB’s. Doesn’t need sync 3’s. Yes, it has its own navigation and is really nice. Fills the screen up unlike CarPlay.

The short answer is yes. The long answer is you would probably have to do a conversion or do some kind of channel grouping in order to make this work because that system I believe has more than the standard six channels that F150 is usually come with as a result, you would have todo a little bit of legwork to get that system amplifier and channels to group into this head unit. But, you could do it. The question is do you want to? And are you prepared to have a technician spend additional hours to ensure everything connects as it should? Unless you are comfortable with audio configurations in vehicles and how to pair amps with head units and run your channels, I wouldn’t recommend just anyone try this as a project on their own because there’s a lot that you can get wrong and the result is you can’t listen to music or podcasts or the radio because you wired it wrong.
