why did not go for m4 pro with 48 ram? every reviewer is saying how m4 with 14 cores is the worst value, just marginally faster than m4 pro with a slightly weaker batter life

I don’t mind the weaker battery if it’s going to give me more performance and higher GPU core count. I’m debating swapping to the higher M4 Max with 48 ram since for $500 id get more CPU, GPU, and higher memory bandwidth

@@FIREWOLFUNBOX Base M4 is equal to an M1 Max, so it takes Apple Silicon about 4 years to come full circle. I’d pocket the $500 for now and save it for a future chip instead as the price/performance value really goes down once you get into the Max unless you want to be buried in this laptop forever.
