Those ports in the cylinder head that you plugged up, those are not oil recirculation ports, they are idle ports that match up with the original intake that you removed. Those are the ports that the original ICV (Idle Control Valve) use at idle, there are 6 of those ports on an M52TUB or M54 intake.

Thank you, that why I made the video. There wasn’t enough information about the swap so I had to do some trial and error to get it to work. This is just to get it running I don’t recommend leaving it like this.

First off, great job. I’d like a little more info on the purge valve you deleted as well as more info on the vacuum line that runs to the top of your fuel rail, like could you follow it on video to where it starts and ends pass the fuel rail to the fire wall? Besides that bro amazing work 🙏🏻🙏🏻

With the stock intake the power come on early and died around 5K rpm, with the m50 below 3K kinda sucks, but above 3K it’s a whole new animal. I call it German VTEC

@@vhoemi I'm looking to do a similar conversion, I just want to know if it's similar if I have a m52tub28 iron block I currently have a BMW 525i model year 2003 and it has an m54 inside. I want to swap the m52 tub28 into it and I was told that I should be using the M50 intake manifold.

@@EmborFrost the heads are basically the same. Just plug the ports with the seem legit garage hardware and use there throttle body adapter for your m54 DBW throttle body

@@vhoemione additional question, and thanks for answering my previous question. But would I be using my m54 wriing harness on the M52 iron block? All of the research I've done points to yes I should be able to use my m54 wiring harness and ECM on the m52 iron block with the exception that I would be changing the positioning of some of the sensors and such when it came to using the M50 intake setup with the M54 DBw adapter from seems legit garage

Did you use injector Spacer's for the m54 injectors to fit the m50 manifold

No. No need, the injectors are the same size. You just need an adapter to hold the fuel rail onto the manifold, it’s literally a piece of 2 inch aluminum with two holes in it.
