In this video, we take the 7er on a drive down the Autobahn for the very first time. This restoration is slowly entering into the final phase. In this episode, I lower and raise the car (yup, you read it correctly), nail Alcantara on the headliner, replace some speakers... also, I talk for a bit in the end.

This is an amazing channel I've accidentally stumbled upon. As a BMW fan and owner I've literally been binge watching your videos for the past few hours and I'm absolutely mind-blown to read in your channel description that this is just a hobby and you're actually an IT guy. You literally put to shame experienced mechanics imo and the style of your videos is so captivating, no bs hyper-editing, no click-bait, just hours and hours of hard work and patience. I don't know how you manage your time overall between work, this hobby and personal life but it has to be some real wizardry! Anyways, I'm simply speechless at your craftsmanship and your projects, this will be the first channel ever where not only did I subscribe to but I've also hit that damn bell icon haha. Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait to see your E60 M5 project unfold, that one got me really hooked up. Now excuse me while I go binge watch the rest of your videos :)

I've never met anyone who thinks the exact same as me. You do everything I would do, even changing the odd one out sump bolt. And appreciate the people not everyone sees as the best, like Sabine and Chris Harris. You even speak German and love Germany. I'm from Manchester and been to Germany about 10 times now, on me bike got a dry lap BTG on the Nurburgring 61 seconds off the world's fastest lap by Andy Carlyle - but I did it on road tyres and it was back in 1998. We went to Lake Konstanz via Friedrichshafen just before the lockdown. I recognise some of the areas in your videos. I've now binge-watched all your videos to date, since the last week of December. Absolute class. I'm a VW old school. MK2 Golf and Scirocco had 24 years now. Recently acquired a T4 that is now completely original, mostly Mahle replacement parts, etc. beauty. But after watching your channel I now want a BMW V12 or V10 to restore to original and add to the collection.

Also Hoovie ditched quite nice 760Li, which I can't forgive - those pumps CAN be fixed and it doesn't cost as much as he said. Watching your videos is like standing over our shoulders. I lived in Germany from 1987 to 1998 and loved driving my new 540 I on the Autobahn. If you do not have a bucket list, you do now! I think that is one of the classiest body styles of the 7 series. It just has that kind of cold, abstinent elegance to it that makes it look and feel expensive. Even before you know which powerful businessman is driving it, the car itself feels like it's looking down on you.

I can just imagine the amount of satisfaction you must get from driving that beautiful machine after all that you've put in to it. Well done.

I would not be surprised if the music he uses in the montage was also composed and performed by him. This man can do everything.

When they installed headliner at the factory, I guess they put it through the front or rear windshield opening before glass is installed. Came out ok through the rear door! Love this stuff. Thanks for posting!

@@Svendrys Surprisingly the SWB headliner easily comes out through the rear door too. The E39 5 series is tricky to get the headliner out though.

I used to own an E38 740i and love driving it back in the days. I have to move on to newer Bimmers when it gets old. If I have similar skills and facilities like the host, I would definitely restore one myself. Since I don't, the best I can do is watching his videos and drool.
