I'm a good way into my m60 swap here in the UK. The car is actually at the fabricators having a pair of stainless 4 to 1 manifolds made and full system. I'm building the rest of the car, just had to pay someone to make the exhaust lol. I cannot wait to drive it again

I decided to go that route as I'm planning to shove half a bar of boost down her windpipe after our 2024 nűrbergring trip. That's if I can find a bloody supercharger. Hard to come by in the uk

im working on this same swap on my car! im going with the e34 booster setup using an e90 booster and master cylinder to support bigger brakes. cant wait to get my engine up and running

@@alejandroochoa3541 it now has an s62. E34 booster mount works great and is mounted up but i can't fit the linkage on the firewall so I'm designing my own from scratch. Engine is in the car and wiring is mostly done. Need to set up a few other parts before i can start it.

Glad to see this thing finished! Great work Hamish! Gotta love the signature sound of a German v8 with all that torque. The only thing drivetrain wise I would look into is an LSD. Not too sure if there is an OEM one that would work with the right ratio, since the case sizes matter. In the e34 540/6 the 3.15 LSD can be installed from an early e32 750. I believe the cutoff was something like '91 but you could check realoem if you want to verify the production cutoff date. I wish I still had my e30 parts stash because I would DONATE the perfect crack-free dash I pulled from one of my '87 325is.' That's how much I dig this car, and appreciate you guys. Now Will, I'm telling you man the VH45/ 41 in an e30 is nothing silly. They are one of the most underrated and forgotten Japanese v8's. I would absolutely LOVE to build one. Do you have any details on that build at all? Like what you had to do for parts. If you had any pictures or info please drop a line bro. Nobody else really does them in any BMW, which makes them even more awesome.

if my e34 dies before the rebuilt m60 in it, i'm keeping that m60 for something else. what fun motors. ive put over 100k kms on mine. (70k before rebuild)

in 2020 and the m60 is the best bang for buck compared to a s50

42 more hp (282 hp stock compared to 240 hp for the S50/S52), way more plentiful (a lot less expensive), and best of all, no special skills or tools needed to work on. BMW put this engine into a ton of vehicles (E32 7 series, E34 5 series, E38 7 series, E39 5 series, and E53 X5). Great job on this swap. Way better bang for buck than M5x/S5x.

Labor will be pricey if you're not doing it yourself. Everything else can be sourced for around 2-3k reasonably if you're a good sourcer kind of guy
