In my old job we had face recognition software that would let you in the office, and it let all the Asian people in, thinking it was just one guy.

This made me remember how a few years ago there was discussion about how surveillance tech and recognition software is inherently biased and racist because it's designed for (as in the person making use of it) white people. Even if it's supposed to be 100% based on computer analytics, it's still made by humans. It's fascinating.

I think the "jewel" is a byproduct of the algorithm that blends all of the images together, at either the begining or end of the process all of the possible facial feature combinations converge on a single point and there is so much overlap the image data breaks down into random colors

Every human has a gem on or around their person, we are just not able to perceive them. We are finally able to use AI to see them, but we assume it is just a glitch. But the reason the gem appears is because the AI was trained on human faces, so it has seen them.

I did a small course at uni where there was about 30 at the start of first year and about 10 by third. During second year we had a lecture like once every other week or something that was shared with a bunch of other courses. I was the only one from my course that went to every one of them and I often was the only one from my course there. The real shame is that they were a total waste of time and everyone else from the course was right not to go. Only one was even remotely interesting and it was just about animation and how clients have no idea what they’re asking for 90% of the time.
