"suicide never ends the pain, only passes it onto another loved one" .
@victornavarro307410 жыл бұрын
(To my understanding-interpretation this is what happens)Her boyfriend died recently and she is really depressed so she takes an overdose of some medication in order to commit suicide. When she is in her NDE (near death experience) his boyfriend is there at a distance but both of them are not allowed to come close. The men holding them down represent close relatives that care for them and will miss them. Once they free themselves they meet. When they get together there loved ones walk beside them sadly and depressed.They fail to realize they are leaving loved ones behind only thinking of the love they have for one another. When she notices all those she has forgot she comes back to life. Its sort of a anti-suicide video very deep and sad with a strong message.

I think it is a very honest and beautiful video in its way. Done by a London Acting Group. M83 should have adopted it as there official video and gave the money to them at least as a tax break. I do know the girl in the video went on to Canada and was in a Shakespeare Play of some repute.

I hope these filmmakers are doing well now. Zero budget is nearly impossible: you gotta feed people, get them to the location, find costumes, pay for makeup, rent equipment, you gotta buy a lot of ink to print releases and call sheets. I suspect this might have been shot in the UK?? In the US, you'd have to get permits, insurance. Zero budget means no one took a penny for this. A lot of people in front and behind the camera on this venture obviously believed in what you were doing, and they were right to. This video is gripping and worthy of awards at the best film festivals. There are a ton of filmmakers who have a US$ 50K budget and don't come anywhere close to anything like this.

to add to Victors interpretation.. the couple on the Hill was a beautiful touch to add depth, they represent what we call ghosts, people who are not ready to leave and stay in limbo, there dance represents unfinished business. When they look at each other at the finale of there waltz, they are ready to move on. The group that made this are incredibly talented. Thankyou.

No one saved me, I woke up on my floor a day later, recovering from the poison in my body. My sister called me because our mom had a nightmare that I killed myself, I told her everything was fine. I now have a wife and daughter. I recently went back to school, I made a friend. She's this little fragile thing, we hardly talk, we're both quiet by nature. She sits right next to me in every class, even when there open seats every where else. I catch her looking at me out of the corner of her eye as frequently as she catches me. I know it's because we share the same story.

Made by a London amateur drama group, should have been adopted as Official M83 vid. Would have made more sense to give money to the non funded community group, instead creating a sub standard one. Must be LEGAL problems?, which ever I think this is the best one. Come on M83, missed a good PR opportunity and way to help young artists. All I know is the talented lead actress, is now staring in a Canadian Shakespeare production, GOOD LUCK to her and all others who created this great piece of film to an awesome track....

Major problem with this video, and that is, as of May 2, 2012, only 67k views since March 2011. This thing should be viewed (and liked) in the millions. And if KZbin has the equivalent of Oscars, there should be one for direction, acting, writing, and cinematography. So amazing. At my desk, holding back tears.

Abraham Pancake Mash hope your in a better place right now suicide is a awful thing but I can relate to it, the darkness that surrounds you it impenetrable with my experiences in it though being one left behind is devastating although it was my dad who took his own life and being the last he called I can't help but feel myself selfish for cutting his call short in my defence I didn't have a clue and was in labor and yes my son was born the same day he died it's alot to cope with I suffer from bpd, anxiety and at times I'm agoraphobic I recently split with my ex who I supported through his addiction and he split with me. It was really hard not to feel low as I did so much tried my best to improve for him but I can say my mind didn't go once to ending it because I wouldn't want my boys and people who care for me to go through the experiences I have trying to come to terms and accept my dads death (even though my mind always thinks no-one cares that's just part of my bpd) there's always light eventually that breaks through the darkness sometimes it day sometimes months or even years but you get there

Wow this is just beautiful. I think the gray world is the place where people go after committing suicide. The couple were very much in love but the boy overdosed. The girl feeling like she couldn't live without him also attempted suicide in order to go after him in the other life. The men in suites are the guides to the other life. Her sister walks in and attempts cpr, ripping her from after life and bringing her back to the present while her love must precede. Truly breathtaking video.

I am in love with video and the whole idea of it, plus music fits it perfectly.
I feel the meaning of this video is obvious to me. The guy commits suicide, and the girl tries the same because she is depressed and wants to join him in any way. The men in black suits represent death. They hold them both back because they know she is only there temporarily, and don't want her to stay. They manage to hug, but eventually it's time for her to go (carry on living) and they take the guy away so she can wake up again. NB. Notice they named this video 'A journey through limbo to find life'. I like that. It suggests Death in this case is good and wants to save the girl because it knows that this grief will pass and she will learn to heal and love life again.

Nowadays it is hard to be young, why? I don't know how about you guys, but in my family personal development does not exist as an optional goal of my life... only to get a nice, standard, moneymaker job... And these youngsters, they get it, they understand that life is more than get a nice job, a nice car, a standard life... LIFE is more than that, personal development, adventure, new experiences, traveling, volunteering, meet new people in new countries... Young and interesting people feel the pressure of this unnatural society, and they cannot bare it... There are two options, either you leave, or you die...

HOLY SHIT I just realized that this don’t save us from the flames and teen angst are all the same story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s starts off with don’t save us from the flames where the boy picks up his girlfriend but sees another girl across the street his girlfriend then moves away and he falls in love with the girl across the street then in teen angst HIS GIRLFRIEND the blonde knows he no longer loves her that’s why she tries to call him and everything else then she goes to the beach at the end and sees the couple and she realized that things will get better and she will someday truly fall in love while in this video the BRUNETTE from don’t save us from the flames is with the boyfriend maybe sometime after or during teen angst (following a timeline here guys) he dies somehow maybe he died accidentally or committed suicide doesn’t exactly matter what does matter is the girl THE BRUNETTE from don’t save us from the flames ( I checked like 20 times trust me it’s her) tries to commit suicide but her friend saves her this entire story is a tragic love story my FUCKING mind just EXPLODED!!!!!!!!! It all makes sense now please send this to people or other comment sections so that they know!!!!!!! I’m literally blown away how M83 can do this so seamlessly and yet convey such beauty and emotion I love this band and for those who do suffer from depression and think about suicide often please don’t you may not know it but you are loved more than you know thank you for reading have a great day and spread the word!!!!!

Cool video. But I keep hearing everyone talk about depression. You might want to start by not listening to depressing music all the time. I've noticed that. I know we like to listen to music that matches our state of mind, and there's a time and a place for emotional recollection. But if you're suffering with situational depression, try listening to more uplifting music and even comedic items. Now clinical depression, needs medical intervention...actuallyall Depression needs medical intervention if it lasts for more than a few weeks, or you're having thoughts of self-harm, violence, suicidal idiations, etc. Seek Help! Please! Otherwise just try lifting your mood with what you listen to, watch and your environment. Sometimes we climb into that isolation shell pretty deeply, and have to fight our way back out. But it's Worth it my Friend! You're Worth it!!

Outstanding work! Emotional and very powerful music goes perfect with the video which was well put together. The actors do a hell of a good job also. Seeing the physical affects as well and the mental distraught created by this evil in today's society, I can relate very well due to my profession as an EMT and firefighter. Whether accidental overdoses or suicides due to depression or losing someone is unfortunate and far too common.
@juliat98916 жыл бұрын
I see this like so. Boy commit suicide, girl attempts to as well. She turns up in “limbo” between life and death, where she sees “guardians” or “death angels” (they are people or spirits who guide you in or out of death) and her boyfriend. Notice the guarding stance and the way the guardians follow them as to not to allow them to be together because she’s fated to live. The couple dancing portrays maybe a drunk driving accident at a dance? I’m not sure. Anyways. They have their moment of embrace, and as he looks at her he realizes how ashamed he is. Because he should’ve never left. He made her do the same. He hurt her. As their moment comes to an end, other people who also committed suicide walk past. Almost in disgust. Her boyfriend is dragged away to wherever the afterlife is..And the guardians return and she’s brought back to life..
