It's refreshing to see something like this from all of the bandai and girl kits

Interesting fact Maschinen Krieger was the inspiration for the original metal gear mechs for mg1 and mg2 NES and MSX2. Look up metal gear tx-55 and metal gear D. Metal gear D is almost identical to the Maschinen Krieger super jody.

But late but the erased part of the runner is where it used to have the series original name S.F.3.D. which got changed to Maschinen Krieger after Kow Yokoyama got the rights to the series back

This is what we called a "reboxed kit". Military model kits used to this all the time when they bought the rights or made some kind of a deal to get the mold and reprint them. Newer reboxed kit will have some new extra parts or decals & even some of them are just the same as the original. I'm looking at you Revell(The king of Reboxed).

Kotobukiya does this too with the zoids with the "repackage ver" versions of their kits.

You're right about this being a straight repop. It was packaged with the Friedrich as a special release; might've been a commemoration of Kow having a gallery.

Would you ever work on a full NITTO ma.k. kit? I happen to have a NITTO Fledermaus (the original, manned version of the Hummel) and she's a bit ancient.

Yeah man if I had a chance I’d be all for it! That’s a pretty cool design too. This kit is apparently pretty old too, much of it being originally from the 80’s according to Lincoln

You could do a Metal Slug type tank with these.

Awesome! This kit super reminds me of the metal gear on the promotional art for one of the 2 msx games....Like, its practically the same xD Seeing as those first 2 metal gear games straight up ripped a buncha stuff from elsewhere I wouldnt be surprised if that was the case here too. (like that one boxart with 'snake' which is basically a painted reproduction of a screenshot of kyle reese in the terminator xD). That said....im not sure if ma.k even existed when metal gear 1+2 released at the end of the 80s...the kits definitely werent a thing as far as ive found but are these kits maybe based on older artwork?

Funny that you mention Metal Gear! The Metal Gear D model that they used for the MG2 adverts was a kitbash made mostly out of Krote and Gans. There were two version, one with a box missile launcher and one with a long nuclear cannon.

NL I thats the one im talking about yeah :D holy shit so it actually was pretty much a ma.k mech haha! I wasnt sure the models existed yet back then! Thanks for the reply^^! Also cool to know that its probably extremely possible to recreate that metal gear then :D might have to look into doing that one day!
