Hey Linc, I do a lot of fussy hand work at my job wearing nitrile gloves and I found that you have much more dexterity (and feel/feedback) if you wear a tighter fitting glove. So don’t shy away from trying a glove that’s a size smaller. Also, acetone is a good (& cheaper) thinner for Tamiya putty. Nice textures can also had by gently wet sanding (600 grit and/or finer) the peaks off your putty texture, leaving just the lows and voids.

As @Plastic_Chamber pointed out, smaller gloves. Also, you can get "finger cots". It's like a condom for a finger. Used when you have stitches on your finger and they need to be protected from getting wet. Good for this if you get small ones and don't want to use a whole glove.

i like 3m bondo spot glazing putty thinned with some lacquer thinner applied with a sponge or stippled with a brush if your in the usa it is easier to get than tamiya walmart and automotive stores sell it and its cheaper than tamiya

I used this technique on my more heavy/scrapy like gunpla like my custom I use tamyia cement and putty funny enough I also take inspiration from tanks

Would x-20a/mr color thinner work as well on the medium step instead of extra thin cement?

any lacquer based thinner will work i just use cheapest i can get and thats rustoleum in a 1 gallon can from lowes

Amazing job. Tho I feel the texture looks to much for such scale. Im currently building one using tamiya diluted putty,but,not before wetting the surface with liquid cement,then stipple with a brush,lightly sand and repeat with thinned putty. Finaly,add bullet proof bolt heads used on german tanks during WWII. i add bolt head last because they are machined,not cast. I am also a tank modeler too lol so,Im aways programed as if building tanks,so,to each their own.
