In the past 30 years, there have been 183 men on death row awaiting their own executions that have been completely exonerated and released due to advances in technology, particularly DNA. There are many more serving life sentences, but resources are directed more towards those on death row. Those 183 were lucky that the evidence was still in storage. The Innocence Project estimates that 11% of people convicted of capital murder charges are actually innocent. Having just 1 in 100 innocent people wrongly executed is enough, in my opinion, to stop executions altogether, but it's actually more than 1 in 10. That's horrific.

@@MarisaAndChew it is actually my 90 year old dad. He disowned me in 2020, swearing to never speak to me again “as long as he lives!” However he dials me “by accident” a few times every month. He hangs up before I answer or as soon as I do. He doesn’t answer my calls and actually has the nerve to “block” me from calling him back. I would laugh if it wasn’t so pitifully absurd. He called me and hung up before I could answer twice in the same minute. The previous month he didn’t hang up and I started yelling “WHY DO YOU CALL ME!” I should have just said some lunatic has been harassing me with hang up “accidental” calls for the last 4 years. Sorry I didn’t mean to over share 🤷🏻♀️ Free KR💜

I'm not gonna say which closing I found more convincing, but I will say that the defense hour seemed to run out pretty quickly, and I spent about half the prosecution closing wondering why the judge hadn't given Lally his 5 minute warning yet...

Lally’s timeline would have been helpful to understand their case earlier. But it’s also filled with so many irrelevant points he’s using as ‘facts’ to prove guilt. He wants the jury to focus on the little things. That’s because his case has no big things like the defences case.

Just a hypothetical: Karen and John end up in an argument while out in the street, parked. Goes for a few minutes. John gets out, still arguing. Karen possibly wants to go home, because it's getting late, never planned on staying over, and the storm is starting. She goes to drive off. He throws the glass at the car and "cracks" (no shatters) the taillight. Maybe she backs up to confront him, but he huffy himself into the house, so she drives off. Jen may have seen the exchange and got Higgins and Albert to funnel him to the basement a short ways away from the front door. Maybe to calm him down. Albert has the dog, having got her from upstairs and all that. But John stays agitated. One of two things could have made it worse. 1. Karen revealed the flirtations with Higgins just before driving off. 2. Higgins revealed something and chastised John for how he was yelling at Karen. A scuffle ensues between Higgins and John, dog bites John, so Albert gets into the middle of it. At some point John takes a massive blow to the back of the head. NOW, if it had been accidental in a scuffle, little impact on the men would have likely happened. I mildly doubt such a big cover up for a dog, but it's even somewhat possible. WHICH means, something was likely intentional, and one or both of them were in massive trouble, and were prominent members of the community. And as they're debating what to do, John essentially expires. Going off that they had maybe seen the exchange outside, glass being thrown, and relatively where the car was during the exchange, or Jen did and told them about it. A plan begins to form. They bring Jen into it, or maybe she was also downstairs. At this point, John is likely near death from the brain swelling. They drag him outside, into the back yard, hidden, just in case someone comes to the basement. OR maybe they left him in basement for a while. Everyone leaves over time, no one sees a body. At some point, Jen calla John's phone a bunch, presumably to find it. (Stair data going down, none coming up, someone could have tossed it up to someone on outside stairs) Higgins does his stuff at PD. Butt dials galore. Jen gets restless, and is unsure if John was truly dead yet (especially if they did indeed take him outside), and Google searches the hos phrase. Realizes her mistake and tries to correct it. White SUV the plow driver saw eventually comes, they drag the body out. Straight out from back gates, where car blocks cameras etc. Jen calls them and tells them Karen's coming to her. So they scramble and either have to abandon the plan to get him elsewhere, or they had already planned to stage him near the curb around the flagpole. Knowing where the fight had happened. White SUV leaves. Karen finds him. And eventually Higgins comes back. And no direct phone data extracted to know locations on either Higgins or Albert. Anyways, thanks for reading. Was just curious how they knew where to place him, if the cover up is closer to the truth.

Lally starting claiming she said she hit him in front of witnesses all I can think of is this evidence turning up much later and being disputed by many witnesses that it was only could I have hit him. It just makes me think more about how inaccurate and manipulated everything given as evidence by the prosecution has proven to be.
