A conspiracy is nowhere near as complex as one might imagine. In Law Enforcement, rank holds a ton of weight, and politics (or one's desire to further one's own career) is enough to get anyone to "stand down" and look the other way. The lead investigator was a close friend of the family. Nobody besides him needed to be in on it. He simply steered the investigation a particular way, and his comrades didn't argue with his theory of the crime. The impropriety throughout the investigation is public knowledge! The same goes for how Brian Albert, the eldest sibling with a well-known propensity for violence, leads his family. One word from him, and everyone falls in line. They just do what they're told and don't need to be IN ON why they're doing or saying anything.

Cover ups/conspiracies like that is not far fetched at all, and happens all the time.

So here’s the thing for me, if KR has been framed, the only reason would be because someone in the house where he was found, committed the crime, otherwise what is the reason for the coverup/framing. So I think that someone in that house has committed the crime of murder or they have gotten into something with the victim and something has gone wrong and Brian Snr has asked his police buddies to point the finger elsewhere. It just doesn’t make sense any other way for me and I am struggling to understand how this even got to trial. There is definitely more to this than we are seeing right now, I have to say that I am looking forward to when the defence start their case and get to bring in their witnesses.
@Alison19734 ай бұрын
That's the only explanation for me as well. If these people weren't connected to the Canton/Boston police and the state police, I would assume the investigation would have gone a whole different way. Or we'd hope it would at least. Maybe someone in the house didn't deliberately kill JO, but he may have hit his head so hard that it was an accident. Regardless of who it was that killed JO, the family weren't gonna take the chance of going to jail. Even for manslaughter. That's my theory anyway. All of these kids act like adults even as teens. Drinking underage, I'm sure driving at some point while having drank, no curfew just come and go as they please. They all just seem like they're used to doing what they want to. The parents seem to treat them like friends instead of being parents. Colin seems like he's been baby'd his whole life, yet he probably did adult things. He also seems like he'd be a bully. There's noway that kid hasn't been in a fight. I sure hope the defense finds one of his victims to testify. RIP John and praying for Karen.

The more this trial continues, the more it seems so many residents of Canton kept John O'Keefe at arm's length. That's not respect. That's pity. They socially mythologized him into a martyr figure. His true friends recognized the difference between "Sainted Officer John O'Keefe" and "John, our friend who also chose to take in his niece and nephew because he's that kind of guy." The Commonwealth's witnesses have unequivocally shown, regardless of what happened that night, that Karen Read was someone who affirmed John's humanity.
