I can personally attest to how much joy your recipes have brought to my life over the years. I started watching 6 years ago when I was still in high school. This reminds me of the time my Korean son insisted on going out to eat. We went across the river to the South side of Seoul and eventually came to a place that serves spicy octopus. He insisted. I refused. He was stubborn and so we went in and I watched him eat the whole platter. (This was in August.) By the time he finished he was scarlet red faced and totally soaked in sweat. I reminded him ever since. Dad knows best!

Maangchi before I started watching your videos, I couldn't eat anything spicier than black pepper. But I was watching you eat gimchi and use gochugaru and gochujang and the food looked so good! I started training myself to eat spicy food because if I couldn't eat spicy food, I'd miss out on a lot of things, including Korean, Thai, Indian, all sorts of things. I've watched your videos so much, I've actually learned a lot of concepts in Korean cooking. Rice is the main dish, and then you have loads of side dishes to go with it. The main korean flavourings are garlic, chilli flakes, sesame oil and sesame seeds. Gimchi should be served with basically every meal. There's so much more I can't even think of right now, but thanks so much for teaching me a lot about Korean food and culture!
