I have become a devoted fan. After Michelle Zauner raved about Maangchi and Korean cuisine in her fantastic book Crying in H Mart, I am now raving about Maangchi too. I spent an hour in our fairly local Oriental supermarket today to stock my pantry as I learn to cook these dishes I’ve become very passionate about just by the book’s descriptions and now watching these wonderful videos. Maangchi is absolutely adorable and makes me believe I can cook these yummy dishes I can’t even pronounce.

Hello Maangchi! :D I know this is gonna sound a bit weird but for most of my life I've been very averse to eating vegetables, something I realized I had to change when I moved out by myself to study. Now I'm in my final year of my studies, and you have have helped me tremendously in overcoming my food aversions! my family loved this! I didn't have pork belly on hand...only pork tenderloin. I sliced it as thin as possible...& also added 1 tbsp of mirin (b/c my kids like it on the sweeter side to balance the spice ha ha). I did have to cook the meat a bit longer b/c it wasn't p.belly but this was super easy and wonderful on taste! will be in my family's favorites now!
