Maangchi is the queen. I love how her recipes are so accessible. Also, she usually doesn't use fancy kitchen gadgets and equipment. She's culinary royalty but so down-to-earth at the same time. Even her measuring cups are those red plastic ones I used to have! I've always had trouble finding potato starch but I think to make the pajeon more crispy I think corn starch can be subsituted. I love pajeon and all the variations... it's such a comforting food for any occasion or no occasion.

@@Johnny-rx4hs Yes, but I think she's in a class all her own. Her videos are designed to teach and share her love of cooking and food rather than make her style and her results look sexy. She shows us washing her ingredients, her knives and her hands... so important but that's hardly ever shown by other video cooks. It's always a good day when she uploads another video.

I lived in South Korea for study abroad, and I miss Korean food. I used to eat all different kinds of pajeon with my friends. There was one place with bulgogi pajeon, and my friends and I liked eating it. The owner took bulgogi pajeon off the menu, because many Koreans didn’t like it. Many of my Korean friends didn’t like it either. I enjoy watching your show, and it brings back many happy memories in South Korea for me :)

Thank you very much for your nice comments and messages as always! Love you all! ❤️There are some good tips for this recipe on my website. www.maangchi.com/recipe/haemul-pajeon I just finished Korean caption, so English and Korean captions are available. 영어, 한국어 자막 올렸어요! By the way, KZbin ended the community captions feature several months ago, so my volunteer viewers can't submit their captions in their languages anymore. I do English and Korean captions by myself because I know those languages. The translated captions already made will stay on my videos. But you still can make the dishes. Always check out the written recipes (click the link in the description box) and translate the recipe page into your language using google translation.

@@tomwushu Wow... great question. I'm not on keto but have tried to cut down on carbs. I've bought almond flour but haven't gotten around to baking or making anything with it yet. I don't know this but I have a feeling that substitutes like coconut flour and almond flour may work with baking but it might not work so well with cooking. I think something like bean flour would work better with making savory pancakes but I'm not sure if stuff like mungbean flour is keto. I know beans can be high in carb content, too. I hope you get further on trying and/or researching on this. It would be great if there was a low carb way to make a lot of dishes we like.

FINALLY! I know why my Asian panckaes have been coming out gummy! I've been making the batters too thick. We had this for breakfast this morning (I suspect the only people in North Carolina who had a seafood pancake for breakfast) and repeatly shared our appreciation of its much enjoyed crunchiness. It was so good that I didn't even mind cleaning the greasy splatters off my cooktop. I think if I had dried out the seafood it wouldn't have spattered as much. I used defrosted seafood from a bag of Fremont seafood that I got at Aldi's. THANK YOU! By the way, I always have green onions in a large planter outside in which I plant the bottoms of green onions I get at the market. They will grow for months until a freeze kills them.
