Each image is different, and introduces different styles. I think fiddling with those sliders and figuring out your own personal tastes and touches is more important. You'd have to understand the color spectrum as well. There was a reason he was fiddling with the blues and oranges, they are opposites in colors.

I love the descriptive words you use while editing. Words like the deepness and richness when you lower the luminosity. That really helps me to understand what it possible with the adjustments and how I can use those adjustments to make my photos better. Thanks dude!
