After two attempts at running the MABDR here is what I've learned. Some good, some silly! What a route, maybe third time is charm.

Good stuff! As a new ADV rider from central NC, I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos! Someday I will have the confidence to venture out that far. Until then, I will keep watching guys like yourself!

Thanks for watching! You got to get out there! This route isn’t that challenging other than the end of section 2 and section 3. Section 3 is a long one with a few creek crossings! One beautiful route, I really enjoy what I’ve been able to do! Get out there and Ride a thin line road!

It took me a while to get some confidence, my advice, just ride. The more you do it, the more confident you get! Riding with someone else is a great way to build the confidence!!

SW Motech has a front and rear spring kit. Just pick your weight range and it works great!

I barely take any pictures because those memories are only mine. If you, or anyone I know wants to know, you have to go yourself.

Yup. Better do some research in advance for losing along BDRs. I remember one of my first trips out west, I couldn't find any vacancy in either big city or small town. So it's not you. A lot of times, I'll carry a sleeping bag and one person just for emergency.

Yes, I plan to do more planning before the next BDR, not as much concerned about the nights I plan to camp! However I will make reservations for the nights I plan to hotel! Not a fan of searching for adequate hotel accommodations late in the afternoon.

My wife and I made a cross country trip together, 2-up, on my FJR1300. She doesn’t camp, so it was up to me to find a motel or hotel for every night along the way. What I did was sit down the night before, look at the weather and decide how far we were likely to ride the next day, and pick a town about that far away to look for accommodations. I’d call them and reserve a room at the best rate I could get. I was able to find something every time, regardless of where we were.

I should have stayed on the route, bad brake and all!!!
