You, my friend, are beyond brilliant!!! I struggled so much getting this to work!! I deleted files, redownloaded drivers, I was getting SO frustrated!! THANK YOU for putting things so simply! FOR ANYONE STRUGGLING TO GET YOUR DRIVER TO CHANGE VERSIONS....Mine kept popping up at 3.0 for at least half a dozen times! I was about ready to QUIT! TRY THIS!! Open your system preferences, go to printers, delete your Epson ET printer from the list. Re-add your Epson ET printer, but instead of letting the computer choose the software, YOU need to manually choose it! You will see at the bottom of the screen "Use:" and it automatically defaults to "Auto." From the drop down, choose to "Select Software." Find your printer, click it, and then click ok. You should see the driver number change once you click on the Options & Supplies button! VOILA!! Hope this extra info helps anyone who was stuck like me!!

Thank you so much for this info. I followed your instructions and it worked. I finally got it to switch from Driver 3.0 to 12.62. I have a question though, I'm running macOS Ventura 13.4.1(c), but, after deleting and re-installing my printer several times, the driver, so far, will only go up to 12.62. Is this the highest version this Epson driver will go or do I need to do something else to get a driver version that is at least is as high as what my mac is running (13.4.1)? I appreciate any advice you can give.

Not sure if anyone had mentioned this but if you click the “presets” drop down you can save the settings as a preset so you can select that preset anytime you print for sublimation ☺️

😱 I absolutely need to thank you so very much! I converted my ET and for the life of me couldn’t figure out why my printer wasn’t working properly. Once I watched your video and notice that the printer drivers weren’t the right version and that I had my printer set to “Air print” instead of the name of the printer, it was a game changer!!!! I bought an epson ET-2850 a week ago--Feb 2024. I use macOS Sonoma 14.3.1, and the current install gave me driver 3.0. Two years after your post and Epson still hasn't corrected this issue--Way to go Epson! Thanks for your help. I finally got the driver updated to 12.62.

I'm clearly a newbie when talking about sublimation. I just bought an epson ET2720 printer and thanks god I found your video! I didn't know that I needed to add an ICC profile that matches my printer to have a better quality sublimation printing. I bought Hiipoo sublimation ink and had to download directly the ICC profil out of their website, adding to your instructions, it now works pretty well and could notice a difference! Thank you so much for this video. The details helped me troubleshoot the issue I was having with limited print setting options showing up. I had to delete and reinstall and your instructions helped immensely. On the third try it worked! I hadn't deleted all of the Epson files on my HD before the 2nd try. And with the 3rd tired I plugged in a USB cable instead of installing by wi-fi. I searched numerous videos and links and yours is by far the most helpful explanation!

I cannot print from my Silhouette anymore. I was get little glitchy divides in my images. Like part of the image shifted just a hair. Not acceptable so I went to my Epson icon and just print from there. Not as quick but better quality. But I cannot adjust the colors from there and can’t figure out how to see if my settings are ok as far as the color matching etc. You did a FABULOUS job on your video. Thank you for the Mac help. I tried the Cosmos profile, then went to the Adobe RGB, and I liked the colors better. I had a sample of what I had printed out on my Sawgrass, and colors were identical using Adobe RGB.

Hey guys. I figured it out. I re downloaded it like 12 times and it did not work. What you need to do is Press the minus button on the printer settings and get rid of the printer. Then when you re-add the printer make sure that under use. It's not on Air print instead ET whatever you have. Then your driver should be updated it literally was just one the drop down menu guys.

The deleting all the files method was just not working for me, so for those out there looking for another solution. What worked for me was going through the driver installation process one more time, and then when it shows you the IP address of your printer, WRITE IT DOWN. I had to add the printer manually using the IP address tab in the printers and scanners section. This finally updated the drivers for me from v3.0 to v12.62!

This was great. Can you tell me how to make sure my color matching is ok if I print directly from the Epson icon? I’m having trouble with my red’s being vibrant. Also what settings do you use when saving in a PNG? For the pixels settings?

There is a spot to save the presets for Mac. After you hit print is silhouette, hit print again, then there is a drop down menu showing "save current settings as a preset", then you just name it and then it will ask you if you want it for all printers or just the current printer, choose an option and it will save as a preset.

@@sparklex2389 Hi! i figured it out. i’ll try to tell you as best I can, because I’m not technically inclined at all..lol at the Epson sight where you’re downloading the driver, when you look for the driver you have in the drop down menu, you must click the box directly to the right of it. I believe it says “GO”, you MUST click the word “GO”! Just selecting download to the far right does not do it alone. hope this helps.

@@michaelakusnir Hi! i figured it out. i’ll try to explain the best I can, as I am not technically inclined…lol. at the Epson sight, go to support, type in your printer, select it. Then, at the drop down menu, select your printer. Directly to the right of that, there is a box that says “GO”. You MUST click on the work “GO” before clicking download to the right, otherwise just selecting download alone will not work. Hope this helps. God bless

I followed your instructions on deleting the driver because when I check mine (I have the ET-8550) the driver version is 3.0. So I deleted everything and reinstalled and I just checked it again and it is still the same driver. I also have 2 other ecotanks installed on my computer and even though I deleted EVERYTHING that said epson, I did NOT actually remove the other 2 printers. Should I do that?

When you are in your printer setup box and you hit the plus sign to add a printer, you select the printer that's under the search box and it automatically puts in down below next to Name and Use. Before you hit Add - hit the drop down menu next to "Use:" and choose Select Software - then scroll down and choose your printer, then hit add. On mine, this didn't make sense because what automatically showed up was the same printer that I went in and chose but it made the difference in the version.

I had been redownloading about 10 times and couldn’t get it right until I found this video and read your comments! Thank you so much!😊

Thank you so much. I didn't realize that I was using the 3.0 version....It took a couple of tries but I finally fixed my printing issues!!!

I FIXED IT !!! CALL EPSON SUPPORT AND THEY HELPED IN 2 MINUTES! Remove the printer and add it again from printer settings. Select options & supplies … make sure you select everything to match Epson version and click ok and it went from 3.0 to 11.0!!

around 6:32 you mention high speed printing. I have a mac and when I go to options in preferences I do not have this option. every group I am a part of says to turn off high speed and I cannot find mine. Is there somewhere else I can find this?

It is under your system preferences on the computer. I couldn’t ever find it either. Then go to the printer you want and click options there. Then it’s under one of the tabs on there maybe utilities? If not just click them until you find it.

I’m having trouble updating my second printer. Any ideas as to why? My first one is an eco tank but not used for sublimation and is at the latest version. Bought the same exact one a few days later and it will not update to newest version.
