He also addressed things that most Apple ecosystem reviewers miss. How many different “rumors and benchmarks and recap” channels are there? But so few address the real way we interact with our devices. Like the experiences those of us who can’t or won’t upgrade to the shiniest, how does the Apple ecosystem interact with the outside world etc. all things addressed in this channel, but I guess at the end of the day a niche of a niche isn’t going to be very broad.

Honestly, despite being a super rich guy now, Linus still has that everyman appeal to me. My favourite LMG host used to be Riley but I think it's back to Linus. @@joeltucci1916 I agree as nearly every Apple Review was identical, just like the kit they received & they were dull and boring. Even now a month later, the latest reviews (living with the M4 Mac Mini for 1mth) ends up 50% recap and 50% speed test results - guess what they haven't changed one little bit.... my Intel 5k still gets the same speed test results as it did in Jun 2017. What consumers want is real world testing, the mini left on top of a carpet tile (to stop it slipping on the table) with 5mm pile covered in the typical workstation mess of food crumbs, dust, clipped nails, bogies and other associated mess, with the Mini being used as a drinks stand. Be interesting to see what happens when that filthy carpet tile gets a drink spilt on it and the already dusty cooling fan has to cope with moisture...

I’ll be perfectly honest, even if this channel comes out of hiatus, replacing Jonathan is going to be hard. Jonathan made me love Apple products again. There was a point in time in the internet where using Apple products was marking you as ‘sheep’ (look no farther than LMG’s own fanbase). Jonathan and this channel brought back the view of a realistic Apple fan; a person who loves them, but not afraid to criticize them. Gentle but firm criticism, not full of ranting and looking for self-validation. Sure, you can find channels like that if you look hard enough, but I would have never found that without Jonathan opening that door. I admit I’m more hopeful Jonathan makes his own thing, rather than seeing Mac Address come back.
@michaelcorcoran8768Ай бұрын
I have feeling they're not going to replace. If they really wanted to they would probably use an interim host because then you do the algorithm punishes you greatly for taking time off. I think they just want to call it a hiatus to eliminate backlash and drama... Slowly over time people will sort of forget about the channel. 9 months from now it'll be on the wan show and someone buy some merchandise and ask a question...Linus we'll say that they're officially closing down the channel and explain why and get extremely defensive.

@alexties6933 I'm aware. That said I'm not _quite_ ready to dump this fiasco at their door. Linus' credibility took a major hit very recently, hence him stepping aside. Who would willingly take up a post as CEO only to be micro-managed by the ex-boss? It's not how companies work. Microsoft did loads of crappy things after Bill stepped aside which I'm sure he didn't approve of, and I have a feeling it's the same deal here. You can't realistically do what Linus did only to countermand the new boss's decisions every time you disagree.

Bought the Series 9 45 mm (GPS + Cellular) w my internship money last month - its def the best decision i ever made - ps its my first apple watch , i aint missing out + its got all the features the series 10's got and its way way cheaper. I intend to use it for years to come.

Still rocking an Apple Watch 3 here … and getting 1.5 to 2 days battery life out of it depending on workout recording. As a type 1 diabetic I’m waiting for the non invasive glucose monitoring version of the Apple Watch … still probably a few years away but what I have does what I need at the moment so no other need to upgrade.

Just FYI, the seconds remain visible on Series 10 even in standby when using the Activity Digital face in addition to the two new faces. Definitely weird that all faces didn't get that treatment and also weird that it seems to have been possible with prior models but I will say Activity Digital makes reading the time incredibly easy. Hard to beat large white-on-black text. The downside is it forces the Activity Rings to be prominent but I actually kind of like that, since it's a fitness device and Activity Rings are a major feature of the watch. Between clear high-contrast digital time, better viewing angles, bigger screen, and always-visible seconds, this is a huge improvement to Apple Watch in my opinion, since it's finally exceptional at the most fundamental core functionality of any watch: telling time.

I just glad Jonathan gave me one last review discussing the aesthetics of apple products. It is what this channel’s sole purpose, and why I love it the most.

i love the part where linus told horst "do you think the new apple watch is fire? thats a cool concidence since you are fire-ed too"

I switched from my series 5 to a Garmin Fenix a year or so ago. Couldn’t be happier. Love having two week battery life and better health tracking. It still serves me all my notifications, just can’t interact with them 🤷♂️

I am not a fan of Apple products, yet I have watched every Mac Address video. Its a testament to the format of the channel and Jonathan as a writer

Has your series 6 battery replacement meant you can’t use it swimming now?

You are not wrong about the watch faces, it is customisable if this is your only option.

I have a series four, it’s great. Still does everything I want except always on display. I went back to my regular watch because I realized the biggest issue is leaving it on the nightstand from charging overnight, an analog watch needs a new battery every few years.

Dang. The way Jonathan and team built these videos felt like a mirror to the Apple products being reviewed or discussed. Also I got a series 9 last year and probably won't upgrade for a long while. I upgraded from a Series 3 watch and if the 9 lasts as long I'll be waiting a good while.

Man, I'm a die hard android user (rocking a pixel 8pro), but this channel has always been such good vibes to just chill or have as background noise. LMG is shooting itself on both feet and hands. Their loss. Good luck, Jonathan!

I'll miss this channel so much, one of the best LMG channels that had a unique open world vibe to it. Wishing good luck to Jonathan in his future career path.
