Switching to Firefox is not hard, neither is getting used to it, I did it 5 years ago, it was easy then, it's even easier now. I have never looked back and neither have any of the friends that I convinced to switch. It's arguably the best browser related decision anyone can make at this point, Google has a monopoly on the internet, all the "alternatives" floating around are all based on Chromium: Brave, Opera, Edge, Arc, and pretty much everything else, that's why Google's ManifestV3 and Web Integrity API changes are such a huge deal, Google has the market share to basically just universally decide how people's browsers should work, which by extension means they have massive control over how the internet works. The only real alternatives, the browsers not based on Chromium, are Safari and Firefox. Safari has a few downsides, it's only available on Apple products, and the layout is very different from what people are used to. Firefox on the other hand is not inferior to Chromium based browsers in any tangible way, it's cross platform, regularly updated, FOSS, has pretty much all the extensions Chrome has (as well as Mozilla openly stating they will not implement ManifestV3), can import all the bookmarks you had in your previous browser, saves logins and card info the same way Chromium based browsers do, has the same cross platform syncing abilities as Chromium browsers, is not noticeably slower than Chromium browsers despite what people claim, and for all the claims people make about certain sites not working at all on Firefox, that has pretty much never happened to me at all, nor has it happened for most of my friends, with the only exception being one friend who couldn't use Geforce Now, her solution was to just download the desktop client. There is no reason not to use Firefox, it isn't inferior to Chromium and the way people tend to talk about Firefox is the same way people tend to talk about Linux, people who have never even made an effort to try the thing they're talking about just parroting each other's bs misinformation instead of sitting down for a sec and trying it. For Linux it's a little more understandable if you can't be arsed formatting/shrinking your Windows partition, buying a whole new drive, or if your PC isn't powerful enough to run a usable VM. For Firefox, it's much less understandable, installing it isn't gonna make Chrome magically disappear from your computer, so just shut up and do it, go through the 3 seconds it takes to click "import all data from chrome", and just daily drive it for a few days to see that it's really not hard to live without contributing to Google's browser monopoly.

For everyone that does have an older iMac, I just want to point out that you can use them as monitors, if you open them up and replace the old logic board with a displaycontroller. They are about 70-150, depending on your model, but still cheaper than getting a new equivalent monitor and once closed up agan, you can use it as the display for any Mac or PC :) Its not that hard of a conversion, anyone somewhat handy can do that.

I tried using Arc on Windows and it is just not developed enough. There is so much missing compared to any Chromium browser, maybe it is different on Mac but I wouldn’t know.
