Do you plan on adding random events? For example; trolls roaming around, special/rare camps with unique loot, unique war parties, diplomatic issues. Bannerlords gameplay usually feels quite plain, fighting the same enemies over and over again. Would be nice if there were these type of events to break things up. In other words; what do you guys plan on adding to make the gameplay less repetitive and shallow

1. Tribalism is pretty prevalent in LOTR factions, Dwarves and Gondor being fan favorites. People who play the evil factions are pretty rare and that makes me wonder if the quality and quantity of content for Mordor/Isengard/Rhun will be as good as what we've seen so far for the "good" side, especially seeing as how we haven't had a preview of anything Evil as of yet excepting concept art. Devs can have favorites and biases, too. 2. Will elves be aloof and neutral or completely and proactively "good" ? 3. Marriage? Castle management? I saw in the discord that marriage was being reconsidered and I'd like an answer in more words. If you can manage castles, will each faction have "unique" building trees? 4. You mentioned a campaign. Will there be an evil counterpart working against the fellowship or the story? Reminds me of LOTR: Conquest, one of my absolute favorite games. 5. Will ents/trolls/mumakil be in the game? Can Bannerlord handle them, especially hitting multiple enemies for splash damage?

The release date is irrelevant what we want to know is what we can look forward to in this upcoming mod 1. How many playable factions will there be? 2. What bonuses will each race and culture possess and how lore friendly will they be? 3. How will lordship function in the mod? 4. What perks will each faction confer upon lords? 5. Will the be more warfare mechanics beyond field battles and sieges? 6. Will there be naval warfare? 7. Can you initiate diplomacy with other factions and will they be able aid you if you eliminate enemies in their immediate vicinity? 8. How many mount variations will their be and will wargs attack you after their riders are killed 9. Will there be more mission variety 10. Will crafting be available to those of us and will it go beyond melee weapons to include bows crossbows shields and armor (please do eliminate crafting 🥺) 11. Will Isengard have explosives? 12. Will there be creatures that can be hunted for meat and hides? 13. Can I help allied towns expand their fortifications? 14. Who is your favorite major figure in the history of Arda?

Hello and thanks for doing a Q&A! Question - Will you guys be using sprites to add to the perceived size of the battles in a similar way it was done in the old games? With only 500 orcs spawned in the fields of Pelennor it would look really bare during a siege. I think that would be cool. Secondly how do you plan to implement sieges on unconventional castles such as Minas Morgul with its high sharp spires across from a deep river bed?

Yeah we will likely do that in Story Mode. For the normal campaign you can simply see that amount you're fighting. I think the limit is 1000 vs. 1000 now - but there will likely be other mods that can increase that, but you'll need a super computer to run it without lag I'm not entirely sure how we will do it, as we will rework the whole siege system quite a lot, and right now the scene crashes if you won't have a ram, two siege towers and ladders, so we'll have to figure out something. I'm sure it can be done though

Sounds great, will say it would be great to have a more accurate Moria than the movies portrayed. There is zero chance the West Gate was a bunch of narrow stairs when it was a major trading hub through the gate and Balrogs were not 75 feet tall. The Gate would have been ramps for either mule or small wagon movement. Moria was a city, not a narrow mine.

BTW, I do have a few more questions I don't think have been addressed(Maybe for the next Q&A). First, will the visual designs resemble more TLD or the movies and how much they will differ from those two? Second, is it gonna be based around the War of the Ring or some other period? Third, will the campaign be coop only or single player too? Fourth, will the campaign include scripted big events of the Canon? (Ie: The ambush of the Rohirrim, Battle of the Isen Fords, the Battle of Helm's Deep, Fall of Osgiliath and the Siege of Minas Tirith) And how will they differ if you don't serve the protagonist faction of those events?

1) The visuals will be movie-inspired and very close to Peter Jackson's adaptation (plus historical inspirations). 2) Yes it will focus around the War of the Ring and a campaign starts in January 3016, two years before Frodo sets out from The Shire. Our new game-mode Story mode will focus on other time periods (check out my video about it for more). 3) Single-player is how it already is in the base-game so that will of course be how it works. Coop is more of a wish, than anything at this point. A wish slowly looking more realistic. 4) No, it's a sandbox game. Would be boring if everything happens like in the books or films. Story Mode will be for those that want to play the battle of Helm's deep (and alike) like it happened both in the films and in the books. All those will be scripted and likely with cutscenes etc. I hope that answers it all ;) Check out the story mode video, might interest you

Totally understand why you don’t have a release date, especially with how frequently bannerlord is updated and since full mod tools aren’t out yet. It would be cool however if you released an alpha, kind of like trial of the seven kingdoms has done, and then the community could help bug test. But I understand if you don’t, just a suggestion

We don't want that, as it just damages the perception of the mod. The first time we make a public release we want it to actually be good and worth the wait. There will be closed alpha testing for bug-fixing and alike though.

blue wizards in my opinion should be a wandering companion that is RARE to find/stumble upon and you as player need a set milestone to reach alongside some qests alongsude rep and influence and even maybe some situational conditions so to say to just trigger/unlock the blue wandering wizards and after trigger its on you as you play to try and stumble upon them as you do your adventure/journey.

It will be more middle-eastern than a desert, though there will be that too. There will be some forested areas around Umbar and if you go further east near Khand it sorta turns into steppes ☺️

Coming up with designs for places like barad dur doesn't have to be as hard. We did see the inside of cirith ungol, so you could use that as template and upscale it for barad dur. Also you could also copy a little bit from minas morgul in shadow of war. (would still be difficult though). Keep it up!

Thanks, but we want it to be different. Barad-dur was built by Sauron unlike Minas Morgul and Cirith Ungol. It it also gigantic. Both places would be able to fit inside of it 😆

Greetings! This is not a kingdoms of arda related question, however I believe you have an answer to it. You (or the dev team) are very talented with the map editor. My question would be: How can I make the ground "appear" from under the water when I load an already existing scene (vanilla scenes made by Taleworlds(singleplayer)) Any kind of help is appreciated.

I assume you mean the world map? In that case I’d join the bannerlord modding discord and check TW forums for tutorials. NPC99 and FoozleMcDoozle know a lot about editing the campaign map, maybe they can help ypu out. The campaign map is quite a headache sadly. It’s quite hard to make a good looking one

Seeing the models and art, I am slightly concerned this will get shut down by Warner Brothers, very close to the artistic style of the movies. I remember someone tried to make a LOTR mod for skyrim a long time ago. The art wasn't even close to copying Warner Brother's intellectual property, but they still shut it down, because they could afford to litigate him forever.
