Used it on my 2018, looks identical pretty much. Only one shield has screws in different places. That is it.

Remember to plug-in the cable and press the power button, when you disconnect the battery is not going to automatically turn on.

@@dicwjy Perhaps dust or a piece of debris has gotten into the connector and now there is poor contact due to which the touchbar does not work. If you are 100% sure that you reassembled your MacBook correctly, you may have a software error, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try: 1. Reset the TouchBar via Terminal: - Open the Finder App. - Click Applications > Utilities. - Double-click Terminal. - Type the following command: sudo pkill TouchBarServer - Type your admin password if prompted, then press enter. 2. Reset the TouchBar via Activity Monitor: - Open the Finder app. - Click Applications > Utilities. - Double-click Activity Monitor. - Search for TouchBarServer then Stop its process. - Choose Quit to confirm. - Also reset the Control Strip process by following step 4. - Enter your password when prompted. 3. Reset the SMC (System Management Controller): - Shut down your MacBook Pro. - Press and hold the Shift, Control, and Option keys on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button simultaneously. - Hold all these keys and the power button for 10 seconds, then release them. - Turn on your MacBook Pro by pressing the power button. 4. Reset the NVRAM/PRAM: - Shut down your MacBook Pro. - Press the power button, then immediately press and hold the Option, Command, P, and R keys simultaneously. - Keep holding these keys for about 20 seconds, then release them. - Turn on your MacBook Pro. - Check Accessibility Settings: Sometimes, changes in Accessibility settings can affect the Touch Bar functionality. Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Keyboard and ensure that "Press Fn key to" is not set to "Show Control Strip." 5. Run Apple Diagnostics: - Shut down your MacBook Pro. - Turn it on and immediately press and hold the D key until Apple Diagnostics starts. - Follow the on-screen instructions to run the diagnostics. If any issues are detected, note down the error code and contact Apple Support.

Is mx-4 lasting over the years? I own a i9 2018 and i dont want to repaste in a year or 2
@juslmunch
@juslmunch 2 жыл бұрын
MX-4 is a high quality paste and will last you a long time. Repasting is good for temps. ALL thermal paste is eventually going to get crusty. You should probably replace every 3-4 years.
