Hi ZY, just wanna say thanks for this killer video. 🙏🏽Also thanks because thanks to one of your reviews decided to buy the Apple Display with nano texture. My double thanks comes with a catch though haha🙃... My story in short: I've been working from a 3.1 GHz Intel MacBook Pro 15 2TB ssd since 2017. So that means a "future-proof-lifespan" of 6 years. At the time it was almost the best machine available in the Apple lineup. Now i'm taking my time to choose my next laptop ion the hope of hit future proofing until 2030. I'm planning to do heaps of Final Cut videos, so speed and time-saving means a lot. I'm afraid the M2 Pro might be insufficient. What would i be missing if picking the M2 Pro 19 GPU instead of M2 30 or 38 GPU? What do you think about this configuration: M2 MacBook 16 Pro Max 30 GPU , 32 RAM and 4TB ssd. Thanks ZY!

Thanks so much for the kind words! I understand your dilemma - the configuration you mentioned, M2 Max with 32GB RAM and 4TB SSD should be good to last you a solid few years ahead! I'm certain it'll fly through FCP compared to your previous MacBook (which I'm sure has served you incredibly well!) I was previously rocking a 16" M1 Pro - which was impressive but I'd say it was sufficient for me as a secondary machine. I'd definitely consider something more powerful if I was counting on it to do ALL my video editing work. M2 Max is definitely the way to go!

I’m currently using a 2013 iMac i7 16gb..so for me getting a MacBook Pro m2 32gb is perfect for me..but from all the videos I’ve watched if you have an m1 MacBook Pro no need for an upgrade

It's the new silicon. Everything else is the same. New HDMI standard, new bluetooth, new wifi... it is all the SOC. So for anyone who isn't that impressed by a battery life upgrade of less than 5% and lives in a world that isn't yet upgraded to all the newest standards (aka the real world) ... just buy the previous model on sale. 😉

95% of allllll people .... dont need all this fancy power .... and with the M serie cpus... its even harder to run VMs or ah you cant use Egpu for gaming... so ARM based is not all that good for everybody ....
