Fantastic and straight forward review. Thanks. What do you reckon to this configuration I have in mind : MacBook Pro Max 16 , 32 RAM , 30 GPU , 4TB ssd. is indeed too much difference between 30 and 38 when doing FCP? Thanks again for sharing your awesome beast of laptop. Multiple layers and 4k, etc… respect.

Smooth edit matters more to me too but for those doing multiple deliveries, on compressor etc, render time is important and I’d maybe wonder whether one is indicative of the other - fast edit, faster render. Just commenting to support the content btw - thanks for making it

Congrats on your new macbook pro M2,is it faster than your previous imac 27 9900K ? You will connect it to a 5K external monitor , to have same resolution of your previous imac 27 ? Thanks.

I got all the same specs! Has it been everything you needed? I’m excited for it to come in! I use Final Cut! Does it edit 4k60?

Congrats on your new macbook pro, it has been everything i wanted, the screen is amazing and the speed i get out of it is awesome. I edit final cut pro for everything and yeah i edit sony a7siii 4k 10bit 4:2:2 60fps footage all the time. This computer will be a workhorse for a long time.

@@Alex_Ochoa awesome thank you! Last questions what’s your favorite sd cards to use for 4k60 10bit?? I have prograde 128s but would like a bigger gb card.

The pro grade cards are great , I also use the Sony tough cards ,they are more expensive but they're really good as well.

I recently bought the same MacBook as yours but whenever I playback, it drops frame like crazy. It’s 4k footage with color corrections and some slowmo. Everything is up to date, but I’m not sure what’s going on.
@Alex_Ochoa Жыл бұрын
There's a lot of different factors that might be affecting playback and drop frames . It could be your codec , it could be the drive your editing off and how full it is, there's different things like that but for the most part it should be able to handle most projects . I edit slog3/ 4k /10bit /422/ h.264 footage Sony footage , I dunno if that will help comparing to what you might be editing. I sometimes still get some dropped frames depending on how heavy of effects and grading I have , also some plug ins might not be optimized with m2 MacBooks yet so once they get optimized it should be better . For the most part it is quick and efficient.

You’ve videos are all rendered, of course they will play back.

I’m having the same issue, did you ever figure it out? I’m only editing 1080p and it still drops frames…
@jisan317films7 ай бұрын
@@pjphelps22 Yes, kinda. First check your codec and make sure its optimized. If your editing off an SSD hard drive, make sure its converted to Apple's APFS format. That was what solved the issue for me. If I do experience dropped frames, I just render that portion of the timeline
