Right! I went from M1 Air and the change was noticeable! 120hz, 14 inches, mini led, 6 speakers with canceling woofers, 16GB of ram, 512 Storage, 12MP Camera, and more power.

Glad someone is talking about the base model! I also got the Base Model and other reviewers are saying everyone should get the M4 Pro, Honestly, those videos made me have buyers remorse but then at the same time for my needs, the M4 base is more than enough! And battery life is phenomenal! I take it to school and come back with 70%. I go about 3 days without charging it. The only thing I don't like about the notched design is the menu bar. I have a lot of things on my menu bar and whenever my temporary show items pop up on the menu bar, other items disappear because there is no space. My M1 air would show everything with no problem.

This is, IMHO, and amazing machine. This is my first Mac ever, and coming from a Windows laptop (that I upgraded myself to max out what it could do), this thing screams. I absolutely LOVE this thing. And I mean LOVE it.

I'm still using a 2017 13 inch and it still works great, however the battery doesn't last long. Considering that I paid $1300 new, I was pleasantly surprised that the new 14 inch is only a few hundred more. Thanks for the review, I'm excited to get into a new one!

Even as a base model this is amazing. I have been using M1 Mac Mini since 2020. Recently upgraded to this and it's an absolute beast.

looking to get a job to save up for one of these, i've currently got a base model 13 inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip (8gb RAM, 256GB SSD) and an upgrade to the M4 would feel like a dream (might pay extra for that nano texture glass too)

@@travmx about the nanotexture, people say it may make some colors look weird, so if you work with color accurate stuff, be aware of that. I saw it in person and it doesn't look much different from "matte screen protectors" for phones and such, I should add that one of those for the MBP costs $10.

Was your previous Macbook a MacBook air 15 inch? How does the actual screen size of the 14-inch mb pro compare to the 15-inch? I am currently considering which to buy..

Choosing between 14 and 16, I went into a local store and tried them out. The 14 was much better than I thought. In the device that I used the text size was identical on each monitor, the 16 just had some more real estate. Normal boxed design websites fit nicely on the 14 though. I thought it was going to be the same screen squashed down, and squinting at the text, but its very usable. Ultimately though for me, I'm surprised to watch video after video after video calling the 16" bulky. It's light compared to the windows laptops that have discrete graphics. My last dell semi-gaming laptop was about 3.5kg and I travelled the first few years as a digital nomad with that in my backpack. The mbp is light as a feather coming from that world. In fact sometimes when its been in my backpack I've genuinely take it off again to check its in there as it seemed too light. So for me, as the weight was not a significant issue, I am going for a 16" again this year.

Loved this video as I enjoy on my newly arrived today space black Macbook 14 inch M4 1 terrabyte machine. (wanted silver) but out of stock which i had previously with my M1 base model, but I am loving the colour it looks so sleek and premium. Your video has now given me the confidence to keep it. I feels I think thicker than my M1 I wonder because of the 1tb. The battery is amazing.

m4 pro is overkill for me but I would love it. I went to costco for an m2 air, but the costco worker messed the order number and i got a 15 inch m3 air for the same price as a base m2. Free 600 dollar gift for me by costco lol

Nice! I’m coming from the Air 15 inch and it is so fast but I was choking up the 8GB of ram with multiple tabs and editing simultaneously, it’s nice you got the M3 even better! Did you get 16GB ram?

I agree with many points in the video except two. 1. This display is better than the oled on the galaxybook. The 16" galazybook has 25% less pixels than a 14" macbook pro. It has worse motion renders and worse brightness. The second qualm i have is when you claimed that Windows File Explorer was better than Apple Finder. I use both regularly and the windoes one is about 10000000000000X worse

I’ve been browsing the web and editing with the 14-inch in coffee shop, my car and even in the subway. Bcos it is lighter and my fingers can easily covers all the keys. Just like why I chose 16pro over the 16promax is that I can text my phone while driving at the same time.😂

We just returned our m4 1tb nano screen apple pro laptop. Nothing was wrong or broken with the notebook. It was not compatible with our Samsung t9 external ssd. And 16 inch screen could not create big enough font size for me. Display was excellent around 1000 nits. I am exchanging the m4 laptop to Mai at similar price point. It too has 1000 nits, top of the line nvda got with intel 14900 cpu. And 18 inch. The apple o/s was not intuitive for us. In summary, the m4 notebook pro was not adequate.

contemplating picking one of these up, but very concerned about the weight. i switched to a 13" ,2 macbook air this past summer, and while i absolutely love it but regret not getting 16/512. i am on the fence between getting another, but m3/16/52, or buying this. again, the trade-offs are very real and hard to decide on.

The weight of this one is more like the 15 inch air, however it is much more powerful and better ports than Air. If you don’t need the promotion display and ports. I’d get another Air but I’d wait a couple months for the M4 airs coming. If you can’t wait the M3/16/512 is going to have sales now so it’s still an excellent option. If you don’t mind a little more weight though, this is the better machine.

Honestly this M2 does everything I throw at it, but wanted more storage. My son's friend is going to take mine and is thrilled.

The Mac throughout its history has always been appliance like in nature. The tinkering options built into Windows and Linux has never been desired need of someone looking to get a Macintosh. They want it to just run applications and do their work. I have an M1 MBP from 2020 and I can't find a good reason to upgrade from it. The M Series silicon has been solid since day one. Apple's biggest problem is getting your average user to upgrade from older models. Your average Mac user keeps their computers up to 8 to 10 years. So, Apple will still need to market to those who still on Intel Macs.

After watching a lot of reviews on here, I've just picked this model up. I'm loving it. Incredible battery life, such a good screen, speakers with that "wow" factor... I already have done a lot of things on it in the couple days I'd my hands on it and my desktop at home is practically obsolete for anything besides gaming now. The only problem with it is my Android phone :') They can't talk and share files without anything other than Google Drive (I know about MacDroid and AirDroid but I'm unwilling to use such 3rd party solutions that are filled with problems and omissions). I actually want to pick up an iPad mini this month and possibly an iPhone in late next year. Apple won me over really fast

You wouldn’t see those modes in the Air because the display in the Air is basic. This display is better, more expensive for editors. Color accuracy etc is something the display on the Air doesn’t have.
