I was there the day Tony was. Red 6 car. It was my first time on a big track so it was a hit for me. Pretty cool that Ford does this. All you need is an extra 60k laying around to buy a M1.

Have fun! Don't stay at that Embassy Suites (you'll save a couple of bucks and there are newer nicer properties across the street) and pray that you get a quick group once you get out on the track.

I went last August. It was HOT, HOT, HOT. Especially in the suits. I thought the meal at the track was one of the worst ever. I expected more. The lunch they provided was better even though it was just a sandwich. I did get the insurance just to be safe but if I was going again I probably would skip if the track was dry. They limit your speed pretty well. Like you Tony I wanted to go much faster. I didn't do the 2nd day due to cost. They forgot to set up my "race keeper" so I didn't get any video of the day. Bummer. It was an expensive day coming from Arizona and folks as me if it was worth it.........I say YES.
@TonysFordsandMustangs2 жыл бұрын
They wanted right around $2000 for the second day and I can rent a track for slightly more than that amount for a half day. We typically split of the cost up amongst a few friends. That gets the cost down to where I'm only out of pocket a few hundred dollars and I have few limitations. That's for a week day rental but I can think of worse things to do on a Monday through Thursday. Thanks for watching!

I'm not sure how I missed this video. I appreciate the heads up. I'm coming from Arizona and figure this is going to cost about a grand with airfare. If you don't mind mentioning, we're did you stay and we're there any other place you recommend seeing while there! I know the Mustang Museum is close by. Did you check it out? Sorry for all the questions, you have always been helpful!
@randiruge1265 Жыл бұрын
@@timgonzalez1708 I stayed at the recommended hotel but it was pricey. There are 3 more in the same area. Just budget according to price. I thought staying at the recommended hotel there would be other Track day people there but not so much. A couple maybe. I arrived a day early and stayed a day later and that gave me a nice buffer. Getting there early to find the track was nice and I did take in the museum. You won't want to go home after the track day as you will be worn out.

This track looks fantastic ;-) We don't have similar in Poland :/ I need to find some in my region and finally learn how to drive my car ;-)

Anytime spent on a track improves your skills if it's with an instructor you can multiply the results. I pick up a little speed after every session and can't wait till the next time I get on a track.

Thx for this video Tony, I have never been on a track, so this was super helpful and I will definitely be going. Did u stay for the 2nd day? That looks like a much more aggressive session for experienced track drivers.

Nice video!...I was surprised that there is a lead and follow only. When I was in Utah for the Boss and gt350 trips we were in groups of 4 for 20 min sessions which was a lot of fun. I guess there must of been an incident. Oh well I am still looking forward to it in June without rain hopefully 😃.

@@stephen7220 I hope you get clear sky's and check out the other properties around the Embassy Suites. It will save you some $ and you will be at newer property.

@@TonysFordsandMustangs Hi Tony, where did you stay? I just reserved a room at Homewood Suites by Hilton Concord. Did you use a GoPro for the recording. Looks like they are charging $179 for the in car video which does have telemetry. Thanks!
@TonysFordsandMustangs2 жыл бұрын
@@stephen7220 I have Osmo Actin cams and a car mount suction cup. I use them for all my videos. I only paid $200 for the entire camera. I stayed at the Embassy Suites as they recommended. I regretted it after the other properties across the street were all newer and less $. The Homewood would have saved me $120 for the two nights. Live, learn, and share the info. 🙂

Tony just wondering if it's worth the money to take out the track insurance on the car. Heading down to Charlotte later this month.
@TonysFordsandMustangs Жыл бұрын
It depends on your risk adversity. They run a lead follow program and you are only going to go as fast as the slowest car in your group. IF that happens to be someone who has never been on track before (typically a majority of the group) who might be a bit intimated by all of it you won't need insurance. I didn't get it but I wasn't all that worried about it either as I have been on track 100's of times. If I got insurance every time I would be broke. I drive to the point of having fun but not on the edge. You know you and that's how you should base your decision.

@@TonysFordsandMustangs Thanks I'm not planning on taken the car to the edge.

Tony in one of your videos I thought you received a letter from Ford inviting you to the track attack day, after you purchased your Mach 1. I've also seen other people receive a gift in the mail from Ford for purchasing a Mach1. The gift was a gear set with your build number on it. Did you receive this gift? Purchased my new Mach over 3 months ago and I have received the letter or gift.
@TonysFordsandMustangs Жыл бұрын
You do get a letter and a gear set however it takes some for those items to arrive. You need not wait for the letter to arrive to call the school. All you need is your VIN#

Did you know the Tire pressure for the Track use? I go next week to Spileberg (F1 RedBullring Austria) and no one knows anything about that (as usal in Austria).....
@TonysFordsandMustangs2 жыл бұрын
I go in at 32 pounds which is under what Ford recommends but that will increase after your first lap as heat gets into the tires. After a session it's not unusual to see pressures as high as 38 pounds. Make sure you take a torque wrench for your lugs and torque accordingly after every session. Lug nuts can loosen under stress. Also remove your drivers floormat and anything else that can shift in the car as well. Best of luck! FYI I would love to drive on the Bullring. It looks awesome!

Did your wife go to the reception dinner? Was there food or things to do for your wife while you were in class or on the track?
@TonysFordsandMustangs Жыл бұрын
Yes she did and there was food at dinner and lunch at the track. There wasn't much for her to do. She could attend the class which was helpful for her and she did get to ride along with the instructor at the end of the track session.
