Wasn't their fault. The broacaster decides on things like this (theme song, audition tapes, episode count etc.). Terry said that the team also prefers the original theme song

I do like how in this show in the first episode they included there audition tapes in that’s neat I give the show a 7/10 it’s better than the later seasons after TDWT and has good jokes and funny bits

I like how the theme song still sticks with the lyrics of the old TDI, but brings the new instrumentals and energy from the new TDI. Gives off a feeling of a nice return, but still acknowledges that a lot has changed since the beginning. Well done.
