3:50 That is the difference between a pro and an “I can run it” guy. Pro spreads it out both directions using the bucket in a single fluid motion versus three separate motions. Truer words were never spoken! However this guy is a business owner and has several competent operators in his employ. Were I in his shoes I think I would tend to promote from within my company when possible. So prospective operators are probably going to have to do it the hard way, from the bottom. Even harder is waiting for your chance to shine.

People have a misconception about "being sick." I've been in my own outdoor business for 26 years - seasonal (9 months). I have not missed a day of work from being sick or injured (more likely). But, that is a pattern. G1-G12, perfect attendance for all but one year, missing two days because of a broken arm. I worked for over 30 years in a business, only a couple of "sick days." My point: We think that everybody is "entitled" to sick time. That is a generalization, one that is poorly applied.

It'd be one thing if DEF was a bulletproof fluid but it is absolutely awful. It can freeze without a heated tank, it can get too hot in normal southern US weather and break down, it goes bad over time even in perfect conditions, it can't handle direct sunlight, it can't handle temperature changes and all this can also happen sitting in the tank of a machine, it's awful.
