@40:45, In Case 1(clockwise rotation), The direction of moment generated by Braking Pressure "P" is clockwise and the drum is also rotating in a clockwise direction than how the braking force helps to slow down the drum. Please explain.

p is breaking force. by friction application .friction generates and the wheel slows down.

sir why we took ft clockwise in the last question and ft anticlockwise in last second question.the free diagram seems similar

In you're second case direction of Ft is same as the direction of of drum rotation but in you're third Case it will changed and get apposite to the direction of drum and also in you're first case, please explain

Sir initially u told Friction force should be in opposite directions of drum rotation.

The friction force is shown taking the free body diagram of lever and shoe block.

sir isme direction kese liye hain? downward ko negative and upward ko positive lete hain to us rule se ans glt kyun aa raha hai.. plz replysir

Ans won't be wrong because whatever direction u take fallow up to end.. Because in equation we are equating it to zero.. If you multiply whole equation by -ve both sides you will get same ans.hope you got this.

For designing the shoe,why we are considering pressure?? why not strength of the material??? Rn=P/wl Why not, Rn= Sut/wl

We apply p ,sigma p=p/area which is always less than Syt/Sut so that lever should not fail at any cost thats the reason why we calculate value of p. . Area is cross section of lever.
