NPA était une émission qui a façonné une génération! La liberté de ton, la créativité, donner leur chance à des jeunes talents… Canal+ était tellement séminal à cette époque, ça nous a marqué au fer rouge! Je suis fier de ça te plaint sincèrement la génération qui a suivi (les Millenials) et qui ont, comme dirait Deleuze, « grandi dans un désert »…

J'étais super content de tous ces passages télé mais il faut reconnaître que leur traitement du métal était hyper cringe, et ce passage ne fait pas exception. On était toujours sur du " attention c'est du bruit" "ça joue fort" "hommes des cavernes" le look, blablabla. Ça parlait jamais de musique. Pitoyable. Le pire étant l'émission complète avec Sepultura. Bref Stéphane Saulnier (le programmateur) très bien. Les chroniqueurs à chier par contre (pour ça , pas pour le reste)

Yeah, really one of the best out there... so underrated! So much feeling, he really knows how to add excitement to pretty much any part of any song. Any sample of this performance makes me miss him terribly, realizing he's better than 99% of the drummers out there, including the one who followed in MH (even if McClain is ok, he lacks the "panache", the creativity Kontos has)

@@rogeranderson1744 I know I'm 2 years late but.. According to Flynn, in 1995 Kontos was missing out on several shows due to sickness or something. That kept going for some time and when Kontos announced that he wasn't going to do Donnington 1996 show, that was it for Flynn and the rest of the guys. They kicked him and got McClain. If I remember, Kontos said few years ago that he never wanted to be out of Machine Head and the problem with sickness was real and something he couldn't control. He was pissed at Flynn for the situation and getting kicked out. Apparently all is alright now since he and Logan are back in band.

This was pretty big, even in the 90s for a euro show to have a heavy band (like machine head) on at the time. This show was known for having decent music on it, rock, metal etc etc. But this was still a big deal.

For all english people who knows Anthoine as "Eurotrash" this guy is a big star in France, as well as his beautifull daughter, and the De Caune family is very important in France in audio/video field as well as in art in general... This guy have made a lot in the late 90's for the french tv which was at its best level at that time! And this program was known to invite all the great metal bands at that time, these guys made live metal music on french tv during late 90's...

So right you are! This TV show left a footprint on French TV and a lot of people are still missing it... De Caunes is from a great famous familly and is fond of Anglo-saxon music. Most of his bad fame in UK came from a show he had on British TV which was like 3rd or 4th degree but people did not get it at the time. This is strange because British are famous for their sense of humour and did not accept that a French guy could possibly have the same sense of humour. I don't really know. This is just the feeling I had at the time...

FYI this TV show was called "nulle part ailleurs" (nowhere else) and this was their "trademark"! They were unpolitically correct, reason why they were so popular! Gildas (the host) and De Caunes (his wingman) marked their territory... and their era!!!
