One of the hardest drops if not the hardest drop in metal history!!! I put this right up there with Domination

Scourge of Iron is up there imo, it's just it kicks off with it. Edit - all of it just one fucking drop

Now imagine having never heard this band and deciding to listen to their first album, which opens with this absolute sledgehammer of a song. I was instantly in love.

Rob gave me the demo cassette tape of Burn My Eyes at Lollapalooza 91? I still have it. Chris and Adam are my very good friends, Bay Area baby...epicenter

@@seanbickford2842 100%. Once Flynn started singing, I binned them. There's Celine Dion for that.

The whole "Burn My Eyes" album rips. So HEAVY. The drummer Chris Kontos is now in Forbidden. Saw them debut the new line-up last weekend. Before Robb started MH he was in the band Vio-Lence and Forbidden before that. He's got a legit Thrash Metal pedigree, and yes the live shows are wild and this song is a staple.

Burn My Eyes, The Blackening, Unto The Locusts, and Of Kingdom and Crown are my favorite Machine Head albums. Some of my favorite Metal songs of all time are from these albums. I discovered this band soooo late.

The song cuts off abruptly in the music video. The ending is longer on the album

I adore machine head! Forget the rest: davidian that’s THE machine head track. That’s their „signature“! To this song I crowd surfed the first time in my life! And I just waited for that song!!!!

I remember that Burn my Eyes came out, which was a kind of perfect metal record, then a year or so later the whole metal landscape changed with the emergence of bands like Korn and Coal Chamber who used hip-hop sounds, especially the use of bass (people called it Nu-Metal, which always seemed a bit lame to me) and Rob Flynn of MH kind of disowned their original aesthetic and their follow up record was great, but it was clearly an attempt to move in step with what was happening. Arround 2000 I stopped listening to metal almost completely, but some years later I came across a newer MH video on youtube and could see they had gone back to the their Thrash Metal orgins (which had fallen back into vogue again I guess). Burn My Eyes remains a classic, but even that feels like it was at the tail of an era and in retrospect kind of rode on the coat-tails of trail-blazers like Pantera, Sepulchura etc. Davidion is awesome though, and yes the drumming is incredible.

This was Machine Head 101, and Burn My Eyes is an all time classic album. I preferred when they were more seasoned veterans with Dave McClain on drums, especially The Blackening and Unto the Locust albums. But Machine Head will always be a favorite in my collection. They are Bay area thrash meets nu metal. Their later stuff was more thrash meets nu metal meets Judas Priest.🤘

Hey bro!! Machine head got a lot of songs i like, more from them? then try the song Old, its my favorite MH song, or at least top 3.. Classic metal never dies, and speaking of that, you have to check out new album from Orbit Culture, when it drops 18. Aug.. i think its gonna be a nasty album.

I saw Machine Head open for Slayer and Biohazard on this tour, and the crowd was insane. I've seen Machine Head a few times since, and the energy level is always crazy. IMO, the best albums are Burn My Eyes, The More Things Change..., Through Ashes and Empires, and of course The Blackening. Unfortunately, their career has been pretty inconsistent, but those albums are killer.

Man, Dude, I was waiting the whole time after your intro that you actually googled what Davidian really was about (which I asume you now have and would not speak your intro words like that again - though I credit you for your originality). The other thing, 'Locust' is a solid song but in no way can hold up against one of the defining songs of 90s Metal at all (which I asume you now know as well)
@ayaanbretmitchell98307 ай бұрын
Why does everyone say 'locusts?' this was machine head at their best. Then they went pure numetal then realised they lost their fans so went back to their roots...that's locusts. Not good.

Robb's whiney emo vocal style ruins many modern Machine Head albums for me.
