Wonderful design, thank you so much! Would there be a way to avoid this float created in every hole? It's obviously caused by holding the needles over several rows and then moving on to the next pair of needles. So... unsure if it would be possible. Perhaps with wrapping of some kind?

Another superb video, Elena! This is a perfect example of what can be done on a vintage or classic machine without punch cards or electronics. Plus, this can be done on any gauge machine. Thank you!

You are amazing. I just found your site. I love this cable with holes. I know you machine knit but is it possible to hand knit this pattern? I am just learning to knit . Thank you in advance for your help

Thank you so much!! 😊 I think so 🤔 I cannot hand-knit so I am not entirely sure
@janatherton9194 Жыл бұрын
This technique is used in machine knitting for making cables that are 3x3 stitches or more which would become much tighter on the machine and possibly bend some of the needles - it gives you more room to manipulate the cables. The nearest equivalent of this technique in hand knitting would be knitting short rows, or you can knit bigger cables by hand using a cable needle to hold some of the stitches out of the way until you need them.

That is very nice pattern for summer tunic sleeves. You are great. BTW if you would ever have a time would you please show cables knitted using main bed and ribber? Thank you Elena. And last question are you on Patreon?

Darina Kalinova Thank you! Yes, so many possibilities 😌 I will have to do some more cables video for sure ♥️ Yes, funny enough I just decided to try Patreon, I have a link to it in the description. Not 100% sure how to approach it yet but I am working on it 😊 Thank you ♥️

@@Knitology1x1 great idea, I am sponsoring 2 creative people and you will be my 3rd one. Obviously depends how much time you want to invest and of course can invest. But developing patterns for garments and selling the trainings is idea. I have paid some, great learning. And of course you can make simple booklets and sell those too. Email me on kalinovada@gmail.com I will share some links with you.

Hola!!!

Hi Elena! I am Majeedat Muhammed, a Nigerian. I am new to machine knitting; I can only make sweaters in stockinette patterns, that is what I was thought on Brother KH587. So, I was wondering before becoming a member, can I get videos that would help improve my knitting skills with the Brother KH587 machine?
@Knitology1x14 жыл бұрын
Hi Majeedat Muhammed, thank you for watching and for you comment ☺️ I am still not 100% percent sure how I am going to approach all this to be honest. I do not have much more content on patreon at the moment, is is still work in progress. I wish to do this together with the people who are watching, so I am always listening to what they are telling me and try to create what they want. I am open to suggestions, so please let me know what kind of skills you would like to work on. At the moment I am mostly posting videos with creative techniques that I developed or learned over the past years. So if learning new techniques means developing skills then that's okay. I checked your machine and is quite different from mine so I am not entirely sure if you can do all the techniques that I am showing, on your machine. I would imagine that you should be able to try out all the single bed techniques I shared but I cannot guarantee that, as I never used a machine like yours. I have a Brother KH 891 and a ribber KR 850 so some of the techniques are for single bed only and some you will need a double bed for. I am always trying to come with new ideas and techniques. But of course I would love to share many other things and tips and perhaps whole garments. I still cannot put as much time as I wish in this as I have to work as well. I hope this answer your question I am as honest as I can 😊 happy knitting ❤️

@@Knitology1x1 Thank you so much Elena for your time, I truly am grateful. Yes, you have answered my question. And yes, I would try those for single beds until i am able to get to change my machine.

What is the equivalent of putting the needles in hold for hand knitting?
@Knitology1x13 жыл бұрын
I don't do hand knitting but but I messaged a friend of mine who is a hand knitting legend to check that. She said that she doesn't think that there is a specific term for it but you definitely can put "needles on hold" when hand knitting- when you do cables for example. 🤗

Hi Rita, I am really sad that you haven't managed to see properly. I try my best to make is as clear as possible. There is an option for you to slow down a video on KZbin ( this is a link to a video that explains how that works: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYbcnoChidWGmdk ). I hope that helps. Take care. :-)
