@lightnervejm26646 жыл бұрын
Well, 10 years ago I listened to that video and it made me buy the Machinedrum the very next day... and this mature machine is still today part of my studio and gig setups. (EDIT 2024: and still is today ;-). Also, I had to send the machine to Elektron for a revision due to some potentiometers malfunctions and to change the internal battery + overall check. I got my Machinedrum back after 2 weeks and it was fresh as new. Very happy about the support from Elektron.

I'm a Reaktor guy who wanted a machinedrum because i thought there was nothing that do those kinds of things. I found a Reaktor ensemble called paramdrum that replicates(not a machinedrum emulation) a lot of the MD s functions. Mainly parameter locks. Just thought i'd spread the info for Reaktor users who want a machinedrum but can't justify or afford one. If you own Reaktor it's only $15 and it's freakin dope.

No guys this isn't a sampler this is a real deal synth based drum machine, the machine is priced at the range of 2000 bucks. It can perform glitch type music flawlessly with the amazing analog type sounds and modern if you prefer.

this is really fun! i was fooling around with this and i came up with an idea for expanding on it that's sounding really cool. if you put slide on all of the notes for the ctrl-al track then when it's unmuted it has a very different mutating effect

Good jamming mate! Im not sure if you know but if you press the [FUNCTION] + [CLASSIC/EXTENDED] keys together the kit will revert to the state it was when you saved it. Very useful if its all gone a bit too wobbly. Also the new update adds ctrl machines which let you do all that with the master effects section. Keep it up ;)

@xpressunith the machinedrum and reaktor are both just software running on a microprocessor. There's nothing inherently better about a digital synth running on a processor stuck inside some little box over one running inside your computer. Now a real analogue synth, that's a lot harder to match with software.

what patch is the "bubbling" or sputtering that happens at about :34 and continues intermittently throughout? At 1:30 you begin to tweak it's parameter lock filter or rate a little. Is this a factory patch? Is there a delay on it?

@klikk0 To get good quality recordings your audio interface has to have good quality inputs. Are your levels good, do you have proper gain-staging? Also, if you don't set your sample rate and buffer sizer properly in Ableton, you may get lots of clicks or distortion when recording.

Looking for pointers: I've been oogling this machine for a while. Is it really worth cash? I mean this sounds fantastic. Would it be better to go with an Electribe and maybe an extra synth like the Mopho, or perhaps a cheap drum machine and a couple of synths like the Blofeld? Any help appreciated.
