One thing I've always wanted was a 720 John Deere tractor. Have memories of riding on it with my grandpa on his farm in North Dakota. I wish my 560 round that good

Those Fergusons were the source design for all the 3-point hitches used on all modern tractors. I grew up with a TO-35 (35hp). Your friend's tractor is likely a TO-20 as he mentioned but could be a TO-30 from the quick image overview. For a utility tractor all those Fergusons were hard to beat. Ours did backup hay baling when the Oliver 880 was down. The key to look for on the Fergusons and the later Fords of that era: live PTO. The TO35 was the first to get live-PTO which allowed things like letting the baler chew on a slug of hay. With out that feature the brush hog can drive the tractor through fences and into ditches (you can get an 'over running clutch' as a work around). Draft control on the hydraulics allowed weight transfer when plowing so you could plow more than the tractor size otherwise might lead you to believe. Our Ferguson was probably the hardest working tractor on the farm when I was a kid, I have that one plus two other TO35s (a problem when it doesn't take much to convert parts tractors into runners and save them from an ill fate).

Love Saul's classic iron. My grandfather had a Ferguson TO 20. It was a good little tractor. He used it for gardening and some light duty bush hog work. It wasn't a power hound by any means, but, it served him well around his small place for many years.

Glad to see the John Deeres. My Dad's 1959 730D pulled 4-16s mounted in heavy black ground and lighter soils for 10 years before sold on the farm auction.

A great video nice to see the old farm equipment too. The old open deck combine well ! I would say I got to operate one back in late 1940's It was a old Massy and my Grandfather let me steer it for about 5 min's or so thrashing some grain I was about 9 or 10 years old, a big thrill for me. At that time on that farm many of the old Case run on steel wheels. Also they were still using horses as well. Time flys as they say.
