Electrix lamps are good stuff. I have one on my 17" Colchester. I have driven by the Electrix factory at 45 Spring Street in New Haven Conn. I was visiting the Sargent factory and noticed the Electrix lamp factory was nearly next door. I was talking to an old guy engineer at Sargent (Al S.), and he told me that site of the Sargent factory used to be owned by Eli Whitney and his company (the father of interchangeable parts), and it was also at one time, owned by the Robert Fulton Steam Works. (You know, the river boat engine guy). I am also going to brag that I visited the Hendey lathe factory in Torrington, and also the Torrington bearing factory. Lots of history in Conn. -----Doozer

I have picked up 3 Dazor brand magnifying lamps too but they have long arms. I fished a drafting machine out of the dumpster at this secondhand store. This Electrix lamp is very nice and built to last. Thanks!

Love the lamp D. I got a smaller shop and I do appreciate how comfortable it is in the winter. Weather here is similar to yours (I’m up in Vancouver). Thanks for keeping my motivation up lol. Fascinating vice.

We used to have those lamps everywhere on benches at work. I am sure they all went for auction after I left. If I found one for $3, I would certainly buy it. Now days you find stuff like that for 3 dollars on Flea Bay and then pay $29,95 shipping. As far as the editing I don't edit anything I post. But I only post Shorts of less than 2 or 3 minutes. My videos are mostly for my own Documation and to share with my kids and friends. I don't mind watching your 11-minute videos if you don't mind making them. Perhaps part #1 and Part #2. That would be 22 minutes. Lots of creators make videos in series such as part 1-2-3-4 etc. But by all means do what suits you best so you still enjoy doing it. I repaired an old power feed unit this week and ordered $3 for 10 pieces part to repair another. So now I need to find 9 more broken ones. lol I've brought some electrical projects inside to the house, so I have something to do during the bad weather days. Breathing life into some old computers has kept me busy for the last few days. Man, can you get taken down the Rabbit hole working on these things. I stayed up till sunrise yesterday and still haven't got the bugs out of one yet. I've set myself some goals this winter. One is to teach myself how to trouble shoot circuit boards and repair them and the other is to self-teach myself how to pull a rabbit out of a computer. In my old age I love learning . A good reason for me to watch your videos. Thanks as always.

I fell into a rabbit hole taking on these older machines but almost out as these things are working one by one. There are 5 second hand stores in this town and even more in the surrounding small towns. Items like quality lamps usually come from the government or medical, this is a $300 lamp!

Yes sir I know they are worth a lot more than 3 dollars. I don't see much on craigs list for our area anymore almost everyone uses Facebook Market place but I don't do Facebook anymore. Don't ask why. lol @@deedeeindustrialsuperprecision

DeeDee. I have a couple of the magnifying lights and they work even better If you replace the bulbs with LED bulbs. Cheers TB

I will have to look up replacements for the Circline bulbs! I need magnification and candle power like a politician needs an 8 ball of crack!

What a fine shop- certainly very unusual for a home shop. I just got a kurt 6" vise. It's a great improvement over my lousy japanese vise. I do miss the loss of front and back mounting eyes when using it on the horizontal mill. I'm having to resort to strap clamping it to the table in four points.

I almost had a normal home shop with a Bridgeport and a Mori Seiki lathe but....

I real like the wooden floor grates nice to walk and stand on for longer time much better for our legs I use them my self , thank you for showing the fine tricks on the cutter grinder sure comes handy and good idea with the mag light and remember to drink coffee . How are you heating your shop ? Thank you again for the great videos .

Hi, thanks, I found the wood better than rubber mats. I have the garage insulated well and just have the wall mounted electric heater.

These grates were shelves in a store that closed, I spotted them in the trash and tossed them on the floor.

That was a balsa wood kit called Mr. Mulligan a 1930s race plane. My Grandmother bought me that kit 60yrs ago.
