Lived at Ft Davis, 70'-71'- Freshman at CHS. Fond memories of JrROTC, swimming in the French Canal, sneaking to Colon, lol. The old Spanish Fort San Lorenzo, and riding my sisters' horses. I figured it was hell then, but a taste of heaven now. A world of its own, and I made gloriously good friends. A movie was 25 cents! Life is strange and wonderful on "The Atlantic Side". ; ) All the best to those who know.

That was great!! Thank you!!! My father brought the family to gamboa in 1953, I was less than a year old. We moved to cristobal, coco solo and finally Beautiful Gatun. Left in November of 1967

I grew up there born in 66 at Cocosolo hospital. My parents met and married there because dads brother was a police officer there for years so my dad joined him after the navy. He became a stevedore and over time was in charge of 2k people if I recall? My mom grew up there because her father was a building inspector there from way back. We left in 75-76 so even though I was younger, I remember most all of this and of course our home was filled with things from Panama, South America and great things off of ships. My mom showed Cairn terriers and won best in show at international dog show. My parents married in Colombia and we got to travel down to Chile on a 30 day cruise that stopped there in every countries port. This brought back so much joy and sadness and I wish nothing would have ever changed. We are the Scott family - Jimmie and Maryann- mom was very social so they knew a lot of people. My big sister has kept us in touch with all her friends from down there. Cocobolo street - my dad made huge Disney Xmas wooden characters and lit them with floodlights every year - a lot of people remember that. My parents passed away in 2007 & 09 and nothing has been the same. Thank you for the video. My dad was an avid photographer and had cases and boxes of slides that somehow got left . In fact I don’t have any photos from our lives. I lived in miami for 15 years and that was the closest I could get to home.

Such great memories. Dad was in the Army and was stationed there in 1970-1971. We lived in Ft. Davis. Remember missing school because we would go sea shell collecting on the Pacific side. I remember the crabs during monsoon season. I remember Devil's beach. I remember Dad and me snorkling there. I remember the swimming pool in Ft. Davis. We were involved with the Boy Scouts and we got to go to the San Blas Islands. Such great memories. There were 5 of us. There was Dad, Mom, me and my 2 Sisters. When we would ask if we could go back to any time of our life, all 5 of us would say Panama. I love seeing these Panama videos because I can't go there physically but I can go in these videos and my memories. I could go on and on because I think that Panama was the best time of my life. God bless.

I lived in Cocoli when i was a kid back in the early 70s. My dad was stationed at Ft Kobbe. My freinds and I used to ride our bikes all the way to Rodman Naval Base just to go swimming in their pool. We also like to ride our bikes to the MiraFlores Locks to watch the ships go by. This song really brought back alot of good memories. Thank You.

Whoever wrote this was an absolute genius! Every word rings very true to my heart. It expresses what we all feel that at one time walked, played, worked, and lived in the Zone on The Atlantic Side. We had the best side after all. I was at Galeta Island Navy Base - Coco Solo from 1966-1968. "The Zone" will always be in my blood. It was a time like no other in my life. Thanks for the memories.

That was nice. Took me back. I lived in Gold Row Navy housing in Coco Solo from 1973-1975. My dad got transfered to Florida, then on his last deployment we went back to Panama and lived in Coco Solo on the Waterfront from 1977-1979. So....we lived in Panama's Atlantic Side for a little over four and a half years. Went to CHS the first time and CZC the second time. Panama has my most favorite memories as a teenager no doubt!!
