"Detectorists" is THE Best thing ever shown on the BBC. It truly is a work of "Genius".

Love that MacKenzie picked Nick Drake as his hero to meet. As a life long music fan I LOVE Nick Drake. When I first heard of him I rationed his music to one song every few days as I knew he only released 3 albums. His biography is an awesome read.

I was lucky enough to first hear Nick Drake in the late 70s when I was nineteen and his music has stayed with me ever since I played his music to my son as well and he is a gifted guitarist too How lucky we are......

Thank you Mackenzie. I found Nick Drake after seeing you on the One Show talking about your book. I've had his music on a loop ever since and also passed on to my 27 year old daughter who loves it too.

Love Detectorists and it makes complete sense that Mackenzie is a Nick Drake fan. I visited Tanworth-in-Arden a couple of years ago where Nick lived, it's such a beautiful village. I knew he was from there but didn't think until a couple of months later and looking back at the photos i took of the place, that i realised i had took a photo of his grave. I stood there in that area of the cemetery for a while taking photos, that must have been the reason.

What's great about Detectorists, is it's just about ordinary people being friends who passive aggressively stand up to outsiders trying to infiltrate their little world. An American friend of mine said earlier this year that he'd discovered this English comedy called Detectorists and I was expecting him to ask me what the heck it was all about ... and he said "I freakin' love it, binge watched the whole lot" ... which susprised me.

Life in a Northern Town by The Dream Academy from 1985 is a tribute to Nick Drake. Great song and excellent band- their first album is really good, also containing the superb Love Parade. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd produced the album.

I watched a lot of Detectorists with my dad a few Christmases ago. He had seen it b we talked about it a lot after each episode. It was repeated over the Christmass period and we watched the first 3 series. Dad died a couple of years ago and watching it is still difficult for me. I hope to be able to again at some time

Having re-watched The Office recently it's a bit of a mindfuck seeing Gareth being such a likeable dude.

that's because the Office is made from a bully's perspective. The detectorists is made from the perspective of someone who is gentle.

This sounds like a wonderful story, but if I may I would like to add to the romantic fantasy. After jamming with Nick we walk downstairs for a cup of tea, and that was when his sister Gabrielle and I meet for the first time, and from that moment on become inseparable. Bless his memory 🎶❤️🇬🇧
