Oh what she said about salons is so true,and it’s everywhere not only USA… I think every salon should have a color only hairstylist,someone who learned the chemistry and has good eye for color, not every person has that talent. You wouldn’t go to a tattoo artist who doesn’t know how to make portrait tattoo to do your portrait tattoo, it shouldn’t be different for your hair.

That is a thing. I sell myself as a blonde ‘professional,’ I really enjoy doing blondes, so that’s the side of hairdressing I try to learn more about. Not interested in other colours really so I don’t market myself towards them.

That's not really feasible unless you want salon prices for other services to skyrocket. Stylists have to eat too and nobody is getting fed doing only blow outs or only cuts. Also you can multi seat clients if you got a color cooking, you squeeze in a trim or style. You can't really fit 2-3 chemical services at the same time. Same reason you don't see manicure only nail techs unless they are charging like $50 for a spa experience. You can't survive on cheap services alone and expensive ones won't fill your book either

They exist but they tend to be more expensive, many years ago I went to one all she did was color , bleach and color corrections if you wanted a haircut another hairstylist would cut your hair . You can always call around and ask if they a colorist working on their salon .

I love. Love. Love the blue ends. They break up the color. When I used to go to the salon, sometimes my beautician would ask another stylist to do something, or just refer you to a different stylist all together. Like If there is a style she couldn’t cut. There is no shame in wanting to not eff up something.

We were actually taught this in college (I did hair & beauty back in 2005/2006/2007) they told us that we can’t be amazing at everything so to pick a ‘niche’ & concentrate on that once qualified. They said exactly what you did, it’s better to be the best at something then ‘meh’ at everything. Lots of my class after qualifying went into barbering or wedding hair specifically or just doing spa/beauty treatments. Nobody stuck to doing both hair AND beauty.

You are totally right about finding a niche! My sister got really really skilled at extensions and brings home the big bucks haha she takes many classes and even developed her own method of installing them. She has a waiting list of clients and only had to work a couple days a week. Now she buys bulk orders of extensions and sells them to other stylists while also teaching them how to do it. It’s pretty amazing

When I went to my stylist Jan. 10, 2023 another stylist was putting in extensions in her clients hair. The extensions were highlights. It was amazing. I had never seen this done before. What a great way to do highlights on long hair.

What is really sad is that her hair does not look healthy to me at all I would be freaking out if my hair was out dry and Frizzy and secondly she has a terrible case of dandruff. Does she not notice. It doesn't look like she's recovered from her last tragedy. I wouldn't be able to make it through these videos if it wasn't for hair Buddha. I've been binge watching these all night and the constant stupidity of these people has made me very salty but his screaming back start using different bleach powder has gotten rid of the saltiness and now I can continue.

Quick Blue is easy to get at Sally's the non pro beauty supply store here in the US. I use it,but use Olaplex #1 to temper the damage and never just go for it with it, Close is good enough for what I use it for. I lighten then cover it with a direct dye.

Keeps me from doing dumb things to my hair.. :)) Update on K18 hair repair mask - First impression so far is very good. my hair looks healthier and it doesn't feel so crunchy. now I know using it once wouldn't do much on the inside of the hair, but it surely did something on the outside no leave-in conditioner or oil has done for me so I'm happy so far. haven't dyed or bleached it in 2 months and I intend to keep it that way.

I know you despise Quick Blue. Have you ever heard of gray-haired women putting the clothes bleaching liquid called bluing? This was popular with them because it turned their gray hair snow white. If you caught them in the right light, you could barely see a blue tint in their hair.

I thought 10 vol was mainly to deposit (no lifting, which is why you are supposed to use such a low volume developer with toner like 10, 7, even 3) 🤔

I like different tips so the green to blue I like they don't clash now I'm like hm3 green hair? Note I'm a guy with a buzz cut it will be a long time before I color my hair and as is it's impractical but allowed if I do decide to play with it Heck all I got is roots lol
