I went out a few days ago and the mackerel were barely biting in the Bedford basin. Not like 2 weeks ago it’s really died down for me. I know you are on camera and all but mackerel rarely survive being caught and released, 1/8 of an inch under you should still keep if that close:)

@@AndrewJames-ps2jc i try not to take chances with any of the fishing regulations although I do appreciate your point. Unfortunately mackerel aren’t tough fish and some of the released ones likely wouldn’t have survived, but the seagulls and the seal would probably get an easy meal at least. I figure it would be a bad look on me as a KZbinr if I was fined for keeping undersized fish lol but I don’t judge what others do as long as they have conservation in mind and don’t take more than they’ll use. Thanks for watching 🙏

A single weighted lure and sink it to the bottom you will usually hit the biggest ones

@@michaellevy3179 I put that on the end of my rig so I can catch more at once. I do find the biggest are usually biting the lure and not the rig.

I got to about 11 minutes and have to go, I’ll finish watching later. I have to say something though….. So far looks like you are being out fished by a girl lol.

@@Howwerelivingfishing. As a guy it’s my duty to bug you about a girl, doing better lol. You should make a video about how you kill the fish you keep and how you store them until you bring them home. I throw back everything I catch but my friend asked me to try for some mackerel for him. I’m just getting back into fishing after 20 plus years. Back then anything we kept we just left it alone until it died. I’ve heard that ruins the meat
