This is the first mixer I've seen that's a close approximation of the Yamaha AG06. It's within $20, has a similar number of inputs (Yamaha has RCA while Mackie ProFX6v3+ has Bluetooth), identical gain (60db), and the same output options (dry channel 1-2, standard, and loopback). The Yamaha has 3.5mm inputs for microphone and headset (being able to apply compression, effects, etc. to headset mics is pretty rare) along with being BUS-powered (a boon for small setups where you want to minimize extra power cords); the Mackie probably has less finicky software and drivers, analog (on-the-board) EQ with more quick access functions you don't need to go to computer software for, and XLR outputs (that the Yamaha lacks). The Yamaha is a streamer's friend, while the Mackie is the obvious compact mixer for live events that can also do hybrid stand-in work for computer recording and streaming. Thanks!

One small correction: I believe the Yamaha AG06 has 64dB of gain.

@@kettnercreative Interesting note about that: Like many, I couldn't find the gain listed on any of the online product pages, so I actually contacted Yamaha support and asked outright what the gain is for the Yamana AG06 (and AG03, Mk II of the same, AG08, etc.). The support representative was firm and adamant that it was 60db, and even linked me to some tech sheets and block diagrams on their websites that list 60db. It's pretty deep in the schematics, but 60db was definitely there. Why they both have D-Pre but the MG6 (and MG10, etc.) is listed at 64db is anyone's guess. But whatever the case, Yamaha's official response (and tech schematics) is that it's a flat 60.

Great walkthrough video! It's just what I was looking for a few days ago. What's your overall impression of this mixer? Obviously it's not going to compete with a full sized mixer but in this small form factor, I couldn't find many that matched the feature set. Personally, I would have preferred a 3-band EQ, layered FX and controllable compression, but the fact it even has compression is a bonus since it's missing in most small mixers. I'm still waiting for delivery of mine but looking forward to getting my hands on it. Any annoyances I should look out for?

By the way can we use Dynamic Mics and Condenser Mics at the name time or not? And also can I connect this mixer to my Focusrite interface and do the recording. Yes, you can use dynamic microphones and condenser microphones at the same time. You don’t need the Scarlett 2i2, it adds nothing to this mixer. Just connect the USB output to your computer

Wow, I’ve been very interested for the Yamaha AG06 mk2 for a while and I was about to order one. But now seeing this one I’m wondering which would be a better pick. I’m looking for a hybrid mixer for live streaming and small live performances (without external devices dependencies), and seems this might be a better option. A deep comparative would be very interesting and helpful since they are similar in multiple specs but the options that the Mackie provides at the physical level are kinda more attractive.

They're both very interesting. I prefer the AG06 on my desk and the ProFX6v3+ for live events. Both of them can do both, but they certainly have their strengths.

Thank you for this super complete video, I just bought this table, and I have a problem: I can't hear my "Shure sm58". Finally I hear it very faintly, I saw that there was the 48V phantom power supply, but I don't know if activating it could damage my microphone. I said to myself why not ask a pro? Thank you for everything ! *from a French fan!*

You don't need 48v for the SM58, but it also won't hurt this microphone. My guess is that you haven't yet turned up the preamp as much as you need to.

when u turned on the phantom power....did it supply 48v jus to channel 2?...or all the other channels as well.... i dont see a selector to select which chanel gets the phantom power.... i am worried the phantom power may damage my piano connected via the mono L/R channels
