Excellent points! at 82kg, I had a 60ltr V2 'Slice (4'9" X 22.5"). It didn't last long, it was like trying to sit on an floating quarter-barrel that sat on the surface, very unstable and tippy yet it certainly didn't submerge enough. So I traded it for a 83lt V2 (5'X 24.5"). Once on feet, it releases fast, is great on foil, footswitches and carving are so much more easy and precise, but it's a still handful in washing machine 2' chop. While stink bugging, the static balance spot is so small that a third of the time I stuff the nose, or slide off the back as it wheelies, especially in under/overpowered winds. Yes length will help.... a lot. ( it does make for an excellent FoilDrive platform thus far).

V3 is a big improvement with the longer, narrower shape.

Tried the 60L and ordered one. Amazingly versatile shape, gets up and recovers so easily

I had to do a double take cause I thought it was an Omen Flux. Loving my 84L and 60L Omens for this 100kg rider. Interesting that the 90L Appletree is nearly 5” shorter than the 84L Omen. I would love to try it.

Totally agree when there is too much concave on the deck it makes the board really unstable. I experienced that with a new board I had to replace... by the V3 ;)

Thanks for the review! Did you try the Appleslice v3 with North Foil, is the foil positioning with North ok and no nose-down riding?

How does the low-end of this board compare to other light wind specific boards like the KT Ginxu Super K? And how many knots do I gain compared to the current board, the AK Phazer? Many thanks!
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 5 ай бұрын
It would depend which size and model you were comparing but the Super K does a little better in comparable lengths. The Appleslice is a little more efficient than your Phazer. I'd guess around 1-2kn advantage. -Tucker

Great review ! For 200 lbs which would you pick as one board quiver ?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 5 ай бұрын
It would depend on your local conditions, wing quiver, and ability but for me, I'd go 70L. -Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding Thanks I actually oredered one today - went with the 80L just to be safe - I'm 54 yrs old ;) my biggest wing is a 5.0 - - I even hesitated with the 90

@@billsuper7324 For sure, good choice since you don't have a massive wing for light winds. The larger sizes don't feel as large while flying so you won't regret it. -Tucker

could you compare it to F-One Rocket Wing V4 (2024)? (also a review for that one would be very appreciated)
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 27 күн бұрын
The Rocket wing is a bit more blunt with less surfy performance. the Appleslice is more similar to the Wing-S from F-one in terms of surfy behavior and dimensions. -Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding thanks!! In terms of freestyle/jumping woule one be better than the other? Also, which would you say takes off easier?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 26 күн бұрын
@@zosterinski I'd say the Rocket would be better for Freestyle as it's more compact and balanced in the air. The Appleslice might be slightly easier to take off. -Tucker

Skipper (not prone dw version) vs. slice v3 for a sinker (2nd board in quiver)? I have a dw board for my bigger board. (advanced rider)
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 5 ай бұрын
I'd say the Appleslice is the better choice as a sinker. It's tail has better release so it's easier to get up in less wind. -Tucker

How does this board compare to Axis foil drive board of the same size?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 4 ай бұрын
It's lighter and both have a good signal using the foil drive. The Appleslice have more hull in the nose so they are smoother through rough water. -Tucker

Interesting comments on the skipper dw prone. 80 kg advanced winger on an 60L V2 slice as my current all rounder and a Flux 40L as my sinker, but looking for something to add range/versatility to my riding without adding lots of volume/length….thought maybe the 57L skip dw prone was the answer to this? I tried a light wind downwind board, but I really didn’t like how it felt underfoot after riding smaller boards. You lose so much responsiveness with longer boards IMHO. I thought this modern shaped version would add a lower range/smaller foil option to my 60 L board. I know you said it is not a downwind board, which I don’t want, but it would seem to me that it should have a better lower range if comfortable starting a board that size? Great review, thanks.

@@JonFriesen-t8j I think the concept has something to it but the prone dw round rails and full length hull don't plane up enough for lighter winds at that volume. If it had a flatter bottom and harder rails in the back half I think it would be a lot better in light winds. -Tucker
