Tucker from MACkiteboarding reviews the KT Ginxu 2 Pro Carbon wing foil board, particularly the 60L model he’s been using. Describing it as a significant improvement over its predecessor, the Ginxu V1, Tucker highlights its design by Keith Teboul, known for innovative and high-quality boards. This model boasts a surfy outline, narrow and long dimensions, and a lighter weight for better balance and ease of use. It features the Ginxu step bottom, which has been refined from the V1, providing better volume distribution, lighter weight, and higher performance.
The board’s dimensions-5'3" x 22 1/4"-and shape contribute to its performance, making it feel like a smaller board while maintaining adequate volume. This design improves intuitive response and high performance, allowing riders to push their limits. The low entry-rocker ensures efficiency and smooth transitions from water to foiling. Its double concave bottom, leading into a flat tail, offers an excellent mounting spot for the foil and clean water release, enhancing speed and ease of lift-off.
Tucker emphasizes the Ginxu 2’s practical features, such as the new fine corduroy pad for better grip and tactile feedback. The pad includes visual and tactile indicators for foot placement, and the board supports both strap and foot hook setups, though these accessories are not included. The board’s balanced design makes knee starts easier compared to its predecessor. The V-strap setup and single strap in the back cater to various riding styles, enhancing versatility.
He appreciates the board’s construction, noting its durability and lightness, made possible by the full carbon sandwich build. Despite extensive use and rough handling, the board has shown no signs of damage. Tucker regards the Ginxu 2 Pro Carbon as a high-performance, versatile board suitable for both surf and freestyle riding. It pairs well with a larger downwind board for light winds, making it a strong one-board quiver option for many riders.
