The window tiling is still behind Windows 10 in functionality, let alone Windows 11. Windows 10 gives you suggestions of what windows to snap when you have some empty space, making it easier to fill your screen with what you want snapped. Windows 11 adds on top of this different snap patterns when you hover over the maximize button, as well as showing your snapped layouts on the taskbar button previews so that you can easily get back to a snapped layout in the background. macOS Sequoia is still missing both of these, Windows gets a lot of shit wrong but window managment is not one of them, so Apple gets a C for effort but that’s it, they really need to try harder.

The bad thing about Passwords is that everything in it was autogenerated while most password apps use manual entry. That means names are very clunky and there are numerous duplicates. Personally, I hope Macs DON'T get any sort of touch support, for one reason: A touch-centric operating system will always have UI elements that are way bigger than they need to be for use on a standard desktop machine. I've used macOS on a touch screen before (by way of Hackintoshing some Intel-based tablets), and it is NOT easy to use... The UI elements, like items in the menu bar, traffic light buttons on windows, etc, are way too small to be usable on a touch screen. But, they are perfect in a non-touch environment. As such, I would MUCH rather the UI elements remain as they are, and not become stupidly large in order to make the OS "touch-friendly"... Like the abomination Windows has become.

The tile snapping drove me nuts the last time I used a windows machine. I would try and drag a window to the side or corner and it would fill the whole screen. Very aggravating. Thank you! I fucking hate that feature with a passion. It usually scales the window to an absolutely ridiculous size with no regards to the content inside that window. I do some work on an Windows machine and I actually disabled snapping because I used to spend way more time scrolling the window contents back to the correct position than it would have taken me to just manually adjust its size. It gets even worse with automatic snapping suggestions blocking the other half of the screen. I’m tempted to install it just for the window snap feature. As a former Windows user I miss the much better window management of Windows versus MacOS.

Would be really interesting if inside of the mirrored iPhone the cursor behaves like in iPadOS

Apple has actually supported touchscreens for macOS in the past. I originally got an Acer T232 for Windows 8 (we know how that story ended). When I switched to macOS, the touchscreen was supported until Mojave. But since the driver was only 32 bit, it didn't quite work on Catalina. I can still see how it tries to process the input commands (for example the cursor jumps when touched) but it is far from usable.

All of the formating things in the reader view are not new. They added more fonts but there was already the colors, and 4 different fonts.

Note about notes: You probably can have multiple words if you use underscores or dashes. Def weird but it's understandable from a programming perspective.

I was thinking maybe they need a comma to make a two word list, but I don’t think that would work either. Underscore or dash would definitely work. I wonder if quotes would work?

One of the features I've been missing, and that Windows has had for years, is the window preview when you hoover over the app icon on the dock and you get all the open windows previews of the app, like for example if you have four Pages or Word docs open. I am using dockmate, as an alternative. I wish they added this feature to MacOS.

How about being able to mirror the Mac onto the iPad.

A couple of months ago I ran into a problem on my new M3 MBP Ultra. I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I had to call Apple Support for help. Just so happened that I had the Beta version of whatever Mac OS was happening at the time. Sure enough, Apple Support couldn't help me because the solution needed couldn't be done while on the Beta OS. I had to restore the current OS which took me a few hours to do. The solution Apple Support gave me fixed the issue but took a lot of time to do. Could they have done it while my Mac was on Beta? Maybe. What did I learn from this? Don't install beta Mac OS. The only feature I am looking forward to is the whole iPhone emulator thing on the Mac, but I'll wait this time around until Mac OS Sequoia is finally released.

its not a good idea to install a beta's beta, that update was for developers for a reason

Did they finally fix multi window management? Windows is miles ahead in that area.

It is absurdly obnoxious but in notes you can do something like this if you need to do multiple operations A = $3 B = $4.75 C = $2.15 Sum = A+B+C = $9.90 Sum + 3 = $12.90 Sum * 3 = $29.70

Regarding the window tiling: If you notice they didn't show dragging the window to the top to make the window fill the screen. It doesn't have that feature. Again, you are stuck "maximizing" the window which will open another SPACE and put the window there. I guess you will still have to use 3rd party applications if you want true Windows like window snapping. I knew it was not going to be a good implementation. They can't get away from that window maximize requiring a new space dynamic. So sad. Everytime I try and help people who are elderly, I notice they have 15-20 'spaces' open by mistake, because its human nature to think maximizing a window will KEEP IT ON THE CURRENT DESKTOP.

Does the new Passwords app work with browsers other than Safari or only Safari?
