Insane how at 5:32 the dude next to him literally says "That's gotta be photoshopped" reacting to the slide-to-unlock part. Hard to really capture how revolutionary and futuristic this technology was for it's time, and this video serves to gives us one of the very few raw reactions.

The century really. This product made Apple the most valuable company in the world. This product is the product that made every tech company copy and make their own version of. Everyone in the world is holding some sort of smartphone - a phone with a large touchscreen with apps and internet capability. This is the invention of a lifetime and it’s transformed society and the world like no other and has made trillions of dollars for companies not just Apple. It’s fucking crazy how ahead Steve Jobs was. *sorry for the ramble it’s late at night LOL*

T9 was awesome and definitely had its advantages, but also some drawbacks. As soon as I got my first smartphone, I lamented the loss of the buttons. I didn't like the built in qwerty keyboard and whatever I wrote required so much more precision and careful review after only five words so as not to have errors. Autocorrect is and definitely was a shot in the dark most of the times, so I discovered Swype and have used it every day since October 2012. I haven't seen any other keyboard I can accept, not even Swiftkey, than Swype and T9+multitap.
@_Nathan-
@_Nathan- 9 ай бұрын
@@Henkibojj T9 definitely had some drawbacks but at the time it was still incredibly fast compared to other methods. I’ve gotten so used to QWERTY and autocorrect on iPhone now though that when I switch to t9 it’s slower. I think everyone should have to start with a flip phone and T9 so they can appreciate how far we’ve come in the last 10-15 years.
